I didn't get it from a news group, I got it from Demonoid. Now where the trouble originates from remains to be seen. The fact still remains that I download the almost 8 gig file twice, went threw the files and and burned it 3 times. It doesn't work.

i meant to say, i got it from the newsgroups, and put it up
on demonoid, i'm the one that started seeding the file
(and in fact am still seeding it now).....its coming from
the copy off my computer......

the first time i put it up, i put up the .VOB files extracted just
because of this issue, so you wouldn't have to download the
whole thing...but somehow a menu error came up, so i just
threw up the whole .ISO....which is where the screenshots
are coming from..

well, I can vouch for the torrent--in that it only worked with Nero (@ 2.4x on a fujifilm dvd+r dual layer)

and have since watched it twice. i love it.

maybe i should go over to focuspullers computer, pull out a piece of
paper, and handcheck the files with a calculator and sliderule !!!!!

but then again some torrent clients may not check the file hashes
correctly.....i'll post the hash here....

I've got one place left in my PIF chain for the PAL DVD-9. Let me know if you want it.

Hi Guys...
Been away for a while.
Just another addition to the old "not burning properly" problem.

I too had these problems, I tried every program I could find and there were errors before and during the burns.. But then ONE program threw up an error saying something like... "Burning dual layer may be compromised..." because I had ANYDVD and DVD Region+CSS Free, running.

I stopped both of these programs and the disc then burned perfectly... three times.

If anyone having burning problems has these progs then try disabling them before you burn...

Cheers

I was in the process of moving when all this stuff with the DL went down. I had just finished downloading the original demonoid torrent. I have applied the fix, had the whole 'extra files' situation, burned the disc with good quality media and burner, and it doesn't work.

Basically, it freezes at the 44 minute mark (Mos Eisley entrance). I can skip past the freeze up using VLC on my modded Xbox, but it basically goes all to shit.

I have a feeling the torrent is just messed up, so I might have to try downloading the new ISO.

Thanks to everyone on this forum, though, for trying so hard to get everybody up to speed. It would be easy to sling mud, but people are being really civil and helpful for the most part.

Well ya, a few pages back this was discussed in length....the first torrent was not right, it wasn't even the ISO, so it was abandoned. The ISO that is torrented now though is fine....I verified it today, along with others who downloaded it....

Of course Adywan did not release his ISO via a torrent....if you want to be sure the next time you download something always get the original release and download via however the author chose to release it.

Sorry, my intent was not to whine or sound redundant, I just haven't been able to keep up with this thread lately. I didn't realize the original torrent was not able to be fixed at this point. I was actually just trying to thank everyone for being really helpful, especially Adywan and yourself, vbangle. Guess I'll go grab the new torrent and move on.

Hey Everyone,

Where's the best place to download the DVD-9 PAL version - they doesn't appear to be too many torrents out there for it. I've started download via ab.Starwars using UseNext bust the download say there are PAR files missing.

Also trying to dowload via rapidshare (NTSC version) but there are files unavailable on the server as well.

Would be grateful for someone to point me in the right direction :)

Perhaps a separate thread is in order to answer these questions and for issues... There is a massive amount of talk in this thread and for someone like me, it was a bit of a problem trying to figure out what to do.

I downloaded the movie a looong time ago when it first came out. I dunno what happened, but suddenly the sound stopped working. I deleted it and then I got a new computer.

I have just now redownloaded the movie and am currently unpacking it. I know there is another file in there with "corrected" files in it but I wasn't aware of that so I'm going to test it out and see if it works for me.

But again, perhaps a separate thread is in order...

Is it not sad that in this time, we are more surprised by acts of love than acts of hate?

You finished the download already? That was fast. I'm not even half way done.

If the trouble is indeed at my end then hopefully this new download with a different torrent program will resolve it. But I do thank everyone for their time and support. It's a bit frustrating.

Ok, let me try this again. I did use the fix, and I said I did in my first post. But it didn't work, either because I'm an idiot or because the files are messed. Vbangle's response gave me the impression that people have given up on fixing the original torrent by negative1.

My point was, even though I can't make it work, I'd like to thank some of the folks here for trying to help fix the problem. Now please quit throwing it back in my face. I'm going to download the ISO file instead.

all i can say is i downloaded it using uTorrent 1.7.7 and aside from having problems burning with IMGBurn (which I've had before with a prior computer with the exact same media)--it burned perfectly fine using Nero. I never had to use the fixes or anything that were included, just the ISO. make sure it closes the disc.

I tested it by mounting it with Daemon Tools Light and playing it prior to burning but it seems most of the problems are after burning.

I just finished downloading The DVD9 from Demonoid for the third time. Just to recap, the first two times I downloaded it with Azureus, did hash check, etc. It came up as clean but it didn't work. This time I downloaded it with Bittornado. I have checked the files and...... drumroll.... it looks like it works! So somehow the crurruption was caused by Azureus the first two time. I haven't burned it yet but I don't excpect any problems. I want to thank everyone, including Adywan, who were very helpful in dealing with this problem. Cheers guys!

So the problem isn't always the file, it's the WAY someone is getting the file.

That $11 I spent for RapidShare access was worth it. Only problem I had burning my DVD9 was my own fault, not a problem with the file.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Burn with Nero, burn at the slowest speed your media will allow.

Hello,

maybe someone able to get me into an DVD-9 PAL - PIF Chain?
I am from Germany (so it would be cool if someone near by, so the postage isn't that high for this kind person.)

Unluckyly I am lacking of a possibility to print DVD Labels, so I would send unlabled to the next Chain persons.

I am in holidy from 29th of June to 13th of July. So I hope to find a Chain to jump in in July.

Ok for those that are interested, I whipped up my own contribution to the ever growing SW:R artwork collection - a track listing insert. It assumes you did what I did...made SW:R into a 2-disc set - DVD9 as the "main" disc and Purist as the "bonus" disc. I'm working on single disc versions.

Get it from my web site I've also got some other ones there for other films.

I used slightly cropped versions of Ady's cover art for the outer pages with a scan of a vintage poster for the inner artwork. I also had to modify Ady's artwork ever so slightly...see if you can tell what I did.

It works like this - get yourself some thin photo paper, or heavy regular paper, that has the same sheen on both sides. A lot of photo papers are only glossy/matte on one side and are "standard paper grade" on the other.

Fire up your graphics program of choice and load one of the parts - doesn't matter which. Adjust the margin settings so it will print perfectly centered on the page both horizontally and vertically. Print. Load the other part and print it the same way on the other side of the page.

Cut out and fold in half.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.
