Thanks for the reply, Adywan. I have all those par2 files and I just downloaded QuickPar(as suggested by vbangle in a PM). If you don't mind giving me a brief tutorial, what should I do next? I've never used this program before and I just want to make sure I don't screw anything up. Thanks again for your help.

I believe he used Microsoft's VC-1 WMV encoder.

Stupid question: What exactly is the split-screen version? I always thought it was a comparison between SE and OT, but how would that work in 1080p?

Laserschwert, I'll presume you don't have usenet access or haven't seen the covers Wookie Groomer posted.
That's a lo-rez version of his A New Hope cover which shows two screenshots.
According to my own extrapolations, each film frame would be approximately 1200x510.
Obviously GOUT is upscaled, but WG didn't divulge in his .NFO file which method he used to resize.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Ah, thanks for the info, now I get it... though I don't see the benefit of having this in 1080p ;-)

By the way, I do have Usenet-access, but I didn't want to download it without knowing what it really was...

I have a question. Were the ESB, ROTJ and ANH SS all released in split screen, and where all or any of them done in standard 480 NTSC? If so, where can I get them? (I don't have usegroup/usenet access and don't know how to use or access it anyways).

I ask since the HD versions are useless to me. I don't have an HD tv yet (though I plan to get someday, LOL), and I don't have and can't afford an xbox 360 right now, so the dvd5/9 regular NTSC non-hd versions (if they exsist) are my only option right now for watching these. If they arn't available, then I guess I'm SOL, LOL

Anyways, Thanks. The SS sounds neat, I'd like to watch it sometime.

Brand new DVD's have been created from High Def/Retail sources just this year. New Hope was posted a few months ago, Empire is finishing up on the newsgroup now and Jedi will be coming after Attack of the Clones 1080p 12GB is finished in about 4 days. All my new V2 split screens are available in 1080P and normal DVD editions. Stay away from the original splits screens I posted several years ago, the new ones are light years better in every way.

there are 12 gb versions still there but you'll need a premium provider to get them.

Do you know when they were posted? My provider has 200 days retention but I don't think they are there? I just downloaded 175 gigs off of it, and I don't think it was there. Thanks

actually I just going through everything I grabbed and I apparently got the 12 gig versions. now just to make sure they unpack and work! I've very excited, thanks a lot groomer! You're work is very much appreciated. I hook my computer right up to my 58" panasonic 1080p plasma, and am now ready to watch sw properly!
