Hey Adywan,

I don't know if this has been asked before. But will you be able to have menus and chapters on your edit? If so, will they be your own design or will you use the current dvd designs? I know your work is taking up A LOT of data and if you can't have menus and chapters that's just fine. I was just curious is all. Keep up the good work, ady.

Why, what's the problem with that?

Surely with all the equipment they have at Skywalker sound this would have stuck out like a sore thumb and someone would have noticed it. Maybe they are all just too scared to criticize anything in Lucasfilm anymore. This is going to be a nightmare to fix even with the use of the laserdisc 5.1 because upon finer checking that too has problems and the dialogue bleeds into the front L & R channels throughout most of the movie, But ESB & ROTJ are almost perfect.

I guess i have a long way to go yet

Maybe the scenes are visually flipped?

LOL even the wookie gets a medal now well done chewie.

You’re not the only who didn’t like it and it was nothing more than a (visual effects publicity and Dolby re-mix stunt) to impress crowds. I would have sooner seen the originals new 35mm and a few 70mm exclusive engagements.

But it was great while it lasted that was until you realized most of it was a cheat and good way to milk us all over again.

But then again these are George’s films but then again if it wasn’t for the Star Wars fans there wouldn’t be no Empire Strikes Back no Jedi and surly not no prequels, if it wasn’t for us to help finance his Empire that is the money spent on the first film, needs to make back more than its investment and it did many times over.

I guess you could say thank you I enjoyed that film many times over and I’ll pay to see it again.

Only the originals from the 70mm six-track Dolby stereo Dolby format 42 will sound better on DVD.

I'm uploading the mos eisley section now. I have had to slit it into 2 rar files because of the filessize (its only just over 100mb but megaupload always stalls on me if i try to upload anything larger than 50mb, so i had to split it) so you will need both to unpack and watch it. I'm uploading part 1 to rapidshare and part 2 to megaupload so you won't have to wait to download the second rar file. Should only be about 30 minutes max

Ok, here it is. The video is a lower bitrate than i would have liked but a necessity to keep the file size down, especially with it being around 15 minutes long. It is XVID & has the new AC3 5.1 audio mix as it will appear in the final version so crank up your surround system. The audio mix is, on this clip, 99% complete. there are a few fx that need to be dropped in here and there but thats about it. The cantina now has more ambience and the music has been tweaked so it sounds more like you are in the cantina and not just an additional music track. Flipped sound Fx have been fixed and i've also managed to sync Doctor Evazan's lines a bit better than it was originally.

EDIT: XVID links deleted- better quality mpeg2 file uploading now. Plus xvid had glitches)

Just an FYI

I needed to rename part 2 "mose_eisley.part2.rar"

the underscore was missing causing the error

There's an odd crossfade at 5:22

Otherwise, excellent! And even on my 2.0 sound system it sounds powerful.

What crossfade? i just checked the file and there is no crossfade. there's a minor encoding glitch at around that time but no crossfade. are you sure its at that timecode?

I'm uploading a better quality Mpeg2 file with AC3 audio now. It still has a low bitrate (2,003kb/sec but still looks great)but it was rendered using CCE so much better quality than the xvid. Its going to take about 1hr 45 minutes to upload (its about 270mb) so if you can wait a bit then i would get this mpeg2 file instead of the other one posted.

It's prolly the "minor encoding glitch" - in mplayer, it looks like a crossfade.

Well since I don’t have a Dolby digital sound card on the pc, I guess the conventional (Dolby twin track) would have to do. I’m still waiting for the download to finish, and hopefully it will play. Oh I’m downloading the (Mos) thingy.

Damn it hasn’t opened! I’ve had bad past experience with rapidfiles in the past. Is there a simple program that you can recommend to play the file with, (Windows Media) won’t do, nor will the (Nero Start Smart).

I only have one criticism of this piece and it has nothing to do with Adywan's amazing work -- I wish there wasn't the 4% PAL speed up in the clip. Being on the other side of the Atlantic, this clip makes me pine even more for an NTSC version.

Truly amazing and flawless effort, Ady.
