We're talking about stuff that passes by in a split-second. Will we even notice? Wait, don't answer that.

I'm really still pleased someone took the time to even do this project.

I only asked a question, the 'monkey' took it upon himself to reply on your behalf I suppose it was a case of 'monkey see, monkey do'

Ignore the negative naysayers Ady, your work is outstanding. You should be doing it for a living.

I also would be willing to PIF both the PAL and NTSC editions.....I live in the States so the NTSC is what I need but I can always play the PAL on the puter....

FYI, I have a new Epson Stylus Photo RX595 All in One to print on Verbatim DataLifePlus Inkjet Printable DVD+R DL DVDs.....

I completely agree. This is your baby, Adywan, so do what you want and ignore all the naysayers. They couldn't do 1% of the work you've done on this project.

HotRod - LOL "handlessLuke"? There was some debate as to whether my name should have been "onehandluke" but I just like the way "nohandluke" sounded and it still gets the point across and it's not "nohandsluke," just one hand...

Ady', I totally agree with that assessment on this shot - Scientifically accurate motion of that planet would destroy the kinetic pace of the shot. I can't believe there's a criticism about something being unrealistic and stylized in a space movie where people are wielding lightsabers and laser blasters and spaceships seem to be able to turn on a dime in space without any reverse thrust -- These craft don't obey any of the laws of motion or space yet nary a peep about those - You want simulated space realism, go watch 2001....

I just noticed something....when the tie fighter fires at the x-wing for the first time, I don't hear any "tie firing" sounds...does anybody else hear or not hear the same?

Ady, it's probably inevitable that people will try to screw around with you and try to find things wrong with your edit that are things nobody would normally pick up on. BTW, I'm hoping Boon gets a copy soon enough so that it gets put up on RS.

Ady, thanks for taking the time and looking at that shot again. Like I said I didn't think it was a big deal but thanks for listening. I can't believe after all you have done and you are still doing, you still have the time to listen to us whinning about this little things. I can't say thanks enough times.
I wish I had a Kryptonite cross, because then you could keep both Dracula AND Superman away.

You gonna need a cover for this Adywan?

Watched the clip Ady, and I think it works just fine. No complaints from me.

It would be great if you could post what you're looking for in a cover design -- including preferred screenshots, project specifications, DVD contents, description blurb, etc. -- in an easily-accessible place (i.e. this thread's first post) for present and future reference. I've read every post in this thread at least once over the course of the last . . . long time . . . and even I can't remember if you've given all of the specific details you would like on a prospective cover, at least all in one place. Even if you had, I wouldn't know which page to look at, and which of the 2000+ posts they're in.

This way, cover-makers will have a place to start, and you'll have some input into making their finished products conform to an approved standard, which will include things you'll want to make sure are included.

While I'm on the topic of resources -- something I've always struggled with is getting the raw cover art and screenshot material (at high enough resolutions with which to make DVD covers) that many others use in their covers. Any links to which you might direct me/anyone else thinking of putting together a cover for Adywan?

Thanks, and take care,

It's quite easy to nitpick everything about any of these projects. I think the short aspect of the clip (18 sec), and the fact that there's so much new about it makes it easier to pick apart any little shot.

The pan of the planet didn't strike me as odd until the 13 or 14th time watching the clip. I was looking for anything that may seem out of place, and Yavin moving fast off camera seemed strange. Looking at the shot immediately preceeding it, though, Luke's X-wing is banking left and could be assumed that he keeps on this course which would then make the movement of Yavin absolutely natural.

Everything looks great in this clip, and I'm sure that when watching the completed film for the first time, the restoration and enhancement will in fact be jaw-dropping.

Now after the 13th or 14th time watching it, maybe Artoo's dome should turn a little more or that one blast from the Millennium Falcon should be 20% smaller. But does it really matter? Ady's taken care of the big stuff and has enhanced the remainder to a level never before seen.

I'm simply chomping at the bit to see the final cut!

O.T. or No T., baby!

and 1 other maybe coming later this month

Don't worry adywan, the cover is indeed coming. Just need a little bit more time. I am wondering though, are you calling it Star Wars Revisited on your cover, or just A New Hope.

Thanks.

Your attention to detail is insane, Adywan. I think that is what is encouraging such scrutiny. You've examined the film to such an extent and relate all the crap that you discover, so now everyone is becoming obsessive-compulsive.

Hey, Adywan! Your clip was awesome! Keep the faith.

Just wanted to add my voice to the legion of fans that are shouting "Keep up the great work"

And screw the nut-job complainers... let them fan-edit your fan-edit if things bother them that much. This is your baby, and you've already improved it tremendously over the 1997 and 2004 SEs

Can't wait til it's "released"

Yes you do.

And unless you can give me a good reason why you and RemixerBoss are posting from the same IP, I'm going to ban one of your accounts. Which one shall it be?

For all the DVD cover makers here's a pack of 48 snapshots that you can use for the covers:

OFFICIAL SCREENSHOT PACK

As to the specifications I'm not too sure on all the fine details as yet. the runtime will be approx 2hours but i can't give you the exact time in minutes as i'm still working on it. It will have Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and its likely to be a 2 disc DVD-5 set. I tested a render of both DVD-5 & DVD-9 specs and there wasn't really any noticeable difference but this could still change so best to leave off and mention of the DVD disc format. i can't provide any menu shots as i haven't started those yet.

It is going to be called: STAR WARS - EPISODE IV but REVISITED would need to be on the cover along with ADYWAN. There will be both PAL & NTSC versions

Anything else like cover art is up to you. Have fun
