Laserman lives! I hope you're feeling better soon. And don't worry about this stuff until then.

Where were you in '77?

It's great to know that the rumors of your demise were greatly exaggerated. (For those who do not know, it's a Paul McCartney reference. (And yes, I know that the joke is no longer funny if you have to explain it. (And this is going on way too long.)))

Great to hear from you, Laserman!

And it's originally a Mark Twain reference.

Thanks for checking in, Laserman! We all wish you well.

Go figure.
I thought Laserman was dead.
Silently killed in the night by George Lucas' crack squad of Ninjas.

Wow! Killed by a ninja... cool! (Splinter Cell reference)

Would rather see you in good health more than anything else, but would still like to see you complete the X0 when you can.

i just wish lucas cared about the originals as much as you guys do.

i hate him for not releasing restored versions of the theatrical cuts of the films in anamorphic.

even permanently altering the oneg and tracking down and destroying every surviving print of the originals in existance.

even blocking bfi and library of congress and afi from showing their original prints.

i'm suprised he did not try to raid the library of congress and steal and burn those prints.

their are film archives that have copies of the originals but lucas will sue them if they screen them.

heck id be surprised if he does not have every private film collector who owns prints from 1977-1983 arrested.

Hello, Laserman, great to hear from you! You've contributed a lot to your fellow Star Wars fans with both your and the entire X0 team's efforts to bring the very best capture and preservation/restoration of the Star Wars Definitive Collection laserdisk set possible to the fans. So thanks for all the hard work! Hope you are feeling well soon, you're in our prayers.

And it probably does have more (fire)power than ILM did in 1977!

LOL.....I was thinking someone actually put the X0 on Wiki. You fooled me.

I tried submitting this to the Contact Us form on the XØ Project site, but it wouldn't accept it!

---

I don't normally do this sort of thing, but I am so wowed by this, I just had to take a moment to say thank you and give you an e-pat on the back.

I just recently discovered this whole 'fan edit' community for Star Wars while I was looking for the perfect Star Wars related birthday present for my uncle (who is a Star Wars addict). I think it's incredible. It is an astounding example of how media and entertainment should belong to the audience as much as they do the creator. Projects like these are not undertaken for money, they are undertaken for love of the craft, for the love of a good film, for the love of fans who deserve a flawless copy of these movies. For that reason alone, I feel you guys deserve all the accolades in the world. It's incredible to see such initiative and passion for your work. If only those who were employed by LFL had as much appreciation for the fans, and love of the movies, as you guys do.

Keep up the great work, and I can only hope I can figure out how to get one of your incredible sets once they become available!

Regards,
Brent

Thanks Sluggo!

Even though I'm only a casual fan of the Original Trilogy (I'm an anti-fan of the prequels, but I won't even approach that subject!), the whole concept of fan edits fascinates me. I've been reading through a lot of these threads, and it's making me more and more excited to see one of the incredible projects for myself. I just think it says a lot about Star Wars, and modern filmmaking that there is a community of people working hard, and for free, to preserve a classic film with its classic effects.

How can anyone knock or criticize what's going on here? Unlike the ka-ching ka-ching that drives most restoration projects, this is being done for the love. That's important. I feel lucky to have found this place! Ok, sorry for the OT post! Just wanted to bring the praise for a minute.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled awesomeness.

To be fair, it is taking a long time. Sorry 'bout that.

How could it not take a long time? I watched the videos on x0project.com. I have trouble finding the time to organize my CD collection outside of work and family obligations.

Incidentally, what's the deal with your sig? Are there really fan edit haters out there?

You have NO idea. All MeBe's sig quotes are true quotes. Most of these anti-fan edit guys are huge Lucas fans who love the PT with all their hearts (in other words, under the age of ten) and can't stand the fact that others feel the need to change them. They also tend to hate this project since they think the two disc sets from last year with the non-anamorphic unaltered trilogy as a special feature are down right amazing since they came from the deity of Lucas himself. It is kind of funny actually.

Well that's good to know. I was concerned maybe that people had legitimate issues with the fan edits. Besides, if what you say is true, most of them can't be on the internet past 10pm.

I think I'm most excited for this and the Legacy Edition. Does XØ have any sort of completion date goal?
