I think it's going to be either:

Imagining Star Wars
or
Conceiving Star Wars
or
Regarding Star Wars
or
Observing Star Wars
or
Gazing at Star Wars
or
Studying Star Wars
or
Considering Star Wars
or
Something else if I can think of it.

Jambe Davdar's Star Wars Project.

There, I've solved that part for you. Now get on with the real work and finish already.

My choice would be : Imagining Star Wars

I think there's a lot 'Imagining' needed before this movie was finished.

Hey, JD, did you create this MySpace for yourself, or is some lame poseur trying to friend me this afternoon?

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I guess I've brought up my ideas already:

"Star Wars Revisited"
or
"Revisiting Star Wars"

"Beginning with Star Wars" (I think this sounds good with "Returning to Jedi")

"Behind the Star Wars"

"Exposing Star Wars"

And I really like:
"Imagining Star Wars"

Nope that's me. I started an account so that I could contact the guy who made the 'Building Empire' and 'Returning to Jedi' pages on myspace as I had no idea who he was.

My vote goes for 'Starting Wars' (rolls off of the tongue the best, w/ it's real title found within and yet still has it's own personality)

Jambe, you should have a vote / poll for the final title

That title might actually work if this project was more about the terrible battles Lucas has to fight against the studio(s) to get SW made, but I think with a project like this, which focuses more on the design- and production-side of the film, you've gotta use a title that comes more from that direction.

Even though I told myself I wouldn't start suggesting names for this thing again, I had just a couple of thoughts.

Why not take it back to something simple but reflects back on the history of the film. Something as simple as "The Star Wars" or "These Star Wars" followed by "A Jambe Davdar Production." It recalls it's own history, has less clumsy phrasing, and still maintains the tone of the other two titles.

That is all. |)

I've made a few suggestions in the past, but here is my latest (and hopefully last) offering ... I will present the title first, and then explain my reasonings for it ...

Star Wars Begins

or more importantly

Star
Wars
Begins

- it keeps the consistency of the familiar graphic design logo
- it has the air of Batman Begins (for better or worse) to tell us that we will be witnessing "where it all began" (ie the birth of the phenomenon rather than the saga itself)
- it also has that wonderfully weird and (by-now) welcome confusion of the "SW stories timeline against their eventual release" situation that we have all experienced from the SW franchise (ie it gives us the air of potentially being the last "tribute treatment" given to the first movie ever made for the trilogy)
- as a result, it has that "circle of life" *groan* feeling of our love of SW coming right back to the beginning and (ironically) is just in time for its 30th anniversary (and could be labelled as such with an amount of subtelty, if not thanking GL for being the dominant "force" in some of our lives).

I like the idea of Jambe creating an alternative script subtitle track (and from first-hand knowledge, I know this sort of thing takes a week or more of full-time work just to create for an hour's worth). I'm wondering what other subtitle tracks could be generated that would provide some interesting anecdotes or factoids (like "Whoops, see the Stormtrooper hit his head on the door"), and especially when the behind-the-scenes stuff kicks in (like "It took xx weeks and a crew of 50 to create Luke's home and temperatures reached 50 degrees" etc etc) ... I'm just guessing here. And I would suggest that somebody else do these since Jambe is already at peak capacity, although this would delay the project even further. Any got any ideas for extra subs, even just so we could dream?

Hopefully after this production has been completed, we as 35yo+ adults may begin to loosen our grip a little bit on our obsession with all things SW ... surely there can be nothing else we can "discover" about this franchise until GL finally releases all other unseen material to the public. I thoroughly look forward to seeing this production.

Rick2525, Thanks for all those suggestions. I must admit, 'Star Wars Begins' by far my favourite so far. You know what? I am going to go with it.

My work on the project has been a little slow of late. I've been away so much. I also lost motivation after a lead for some VERY cool material dried up. I know it's out there I just need to work out how to get to it.

If I start asking people to assist me, I don't think a subtitle track would be that useful, as it is something I do as I go along. The placement of the text often depends on timing. These subtitles are also burned in to the picture unlike those in 'Deleted Magic'.

There are some things that people could help me with though:

- Suggestions of facts & info for the 'subtitles' (please PM these to me)
- I could do with somebody collating all of the Jabba material and converting it all to PAL.
- A definitive list of the mono mix differences would be good.
- I would love to see your ideas for a 'Star Wars Begins' title screen.
- DVD menu designs.
- Any suggestions of how else you could help are always appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
JD

A fairly comprehensive - although not definitive - list of mono mix differences can be found here.

I believe that there were problems playing the mp3 files on the site on a Mac but the links are all still there.

Belbucus has created an audio file with the Dolby mix in one channel and the mono mix in the other, synched to the GOUT DVD. This would help in identifying the changes, but from what I gather there are numerous minor differences that are probably not worth mentioning.

I could help converting video to PAL for you, but I don't have any of the Jabba material.

Moth3r, where can I get this file? Is it for syncing with PAL or NTSC GOUT?

I have all the Jabba material, I just need to collect it all together and get it converted. I will be in contact.

Nope, it's this one: Belbucus' 35mm Dolby Stereo vs. mono mix comparison "S-M COMP 48 DVD.nfo" posted by Mallwalker on 26 July.

I will send it your way JD.

Back on page 2, I suggested "Beginning Star Wars." I guess I can live with "Star Wars Begins."

I'm glad that a title is finally finalized. And now, hopefully I and others won't be haranguing you with title ideas every other page.
