Had trouble adding a new contributor on the same page as entering a new release. I was able to successfully add him in when editing the release.

I just added a new contributor with no problems. However, I did experience this issue a couple of days ago (at the time put it down to my internet connection playing up).

One thing I've noticed is that the links to access a particular project's details page are titled incorrectly. (Link titles appear as tooltips when you hover your pointer over the text. The tooltips say "view all projects in the * category" when they should say something like "view details for this project").

When you say you "had trouble," what does that mean exactly? Was there an error message? Did it simply time out? Just sit there after you hit the submit button?

When I entered the name and submitted, it simply didn't add the name the first time.

The word "the" is being counted in the alphabetization of the lists (i.e. The Omen and The Story of Star Wars).

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I think I identified the problem. I was originally requiring both the contributor name and bio fields, so if only the name was entered, nothing would happen. I failed to provide an adequate error message. This occurred on the project details page also. I removed the bio requirement, so now just the contributor name is required. Seems to work fine now.

I'll have to see if I can find a workaround for this.

Speaking of which, is there a way to administer to one's account? For instance, changing password or email address and such.

Also, there should be an "overall" save for adding/editing projects when edit is complete (that is, saves complete edit and returns user to project's main page).

Definitely need that, don't we? I'll put it on the list.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Most changes after a project has been uploaded will involve a change to one, maybe two fields at a time. Updating the entire project at once after several changes would result in excess load on the server (especially in the case of specifications, which already involve a big chunk of processing) and increase the chances that one user might overwrite the changes made by another user. I think updating one field at a time is the best balance between performance and data integrity.

Unless people really start complaining about the current functionality, I think it should remain as it is.

How about a link to go back to the page that was just edited, then? Right now, I'm not sure how to get back after I've updated the page other than going back to the front page (or the big list). Right now with a dozen projects, that's no big deal, but eventually it will get unwieldy.

Click the "browse" link at the top of the project edit page. It's in the same position as the "edit" link.

I'll come up with a way to make it more obvious.

I'll look into this.

Looks like I also need to bump up the number of allowed characters in the project title field. Some titles are getting truncated.

In the style sheet, the indented-line "height" attribute doesn't work with IE; I believe it needs to be replaced with "line-height".

Now I don't have the web design skills of Jay or Zion, but I think a tiny splash of colour improves the look of the page. With this in mind, and taking account the IE bug above, I'd suggest the following replacements:

DIV.indented-line {
BORDER-TOP: #8d0000 1px solid; LINE-HEIGHT: 0px;
}

and

H1.title-small {
FONT-WEIGHT: bold; FONT-SIZE: 11px; MARGIN: 20px 10px 5px 0px; COLOR: #8d0000; BORDER-BOTTOM: #8d0000 1px solid
}

Thanks for the suggestions. Visual design is definitely on the drawing board, just not a priority right now (hence the current blah logo). Let's keep the thread about actual bugs for now

It's possible to enter an invalid Project Release Date (e.g. February 31), and this causes a system error.

Try this:

- Go into a project edit form.
- Add another category to the project.
- Click the "remove" link for the original category.

The stylesheet is missing from the next page.

I keep forgetting to fix this one

Since projects can be stored in multiple categories and the category you come from determines certain aspects of the project details page, removing the project from the category you came from causes the output to break.

I'll probably create a redirect that selects one of the other categories and drop the user there.
