Audio level question for a trailer creation

Well this is my first post on the forum and it's for a minor project i'm going to start.

I have all 4 Tremors: movies and am going to make a trailer, and possibly a whole new feature length (will discuss later).

Problem i'm having is, I can't figure out how to make the audio sound the same level through out all of my sources.

I have tried messing around with audcaity but they still sound way off.

btw, I'm pretty adept to using video editing software due to creating anime music videos, however sound is something new.

Thanx for the help.

In Vegas, you can assign the audio to left or right speaker, and then watch the levels. I've also used headphones, to further dilineate between the two sources. For example, I did this when comparing the Faces soundtrack to the Definitive Collection soundtrack.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

Assuming you are ripping AC-3 off the DVDs and converting to WAV/PCM for editing, just enable dialogue normalisation when you convert to WAV (assuming you're using BeSweet/Azid), then all tracks will be to the same reference level.

thanks for the info. Yeah, forgot to mention that they are ac3 wav's. Going to make the trailer to see how hard the actual theatrical will be to make... Thanks again.
