Idea: "Just the Action"

I had an idea for all the fan editors. I was thinking it would be cool to make a series of movies that had only action scenes from movies. Obviously since most times you would have maybe 10-30 minutes per movie you could put several movies on a disk. I dont know how good of an idea it was but I just thought Id throw it out there.

you could make one movie using loads of different action scenes from different movies. it wouldn't be hard tring to find a plot.

This would be similar to making an adult movie with all the plot points removed. For a lot of people, they'd like the sex. For everyone else, they'd be trying to figure out WHY they're having sex. LOL Just a thought...

Action movies to me wouldn't do anything for me without the reason for it. I wouldn't want to watch a Spider-Man movie if it was Spider-Man and Doc Ock slugging it out for two hours.

you could do a Bruckheimer extravaganza! All of his films edited to make one action 2-3 hour epic!

The point isnt to make a movie out of the action, its to watch just the action scenes. Similar to how one member on this board made a disk of just lightsaber duels from starwars. Some movies I like to watch just for the action sequences and nothing else (the 2 matrix sequels come to mind). I think there may be others who feel the same way about other movies. I do plug in movies every once in a while just to watch the action scenes, such as enter the dragon, not that I think its a bad movie but the action scenes are what I love to watch. Like I was saying you could do volumes, Best Fights, Best Battles ect..

I know what you mean. In the UK, Universal released two dvd's which were the same idea. One was Martial Arts and the other horror. I had the Horror DVD but traded it a long time ago

I've got a similar feature on VHS, "The Best of the Martial Arts". Although it's presented as a documentary - with narration, interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff - it's primarily just a collection of the best fight scenes from 70s/80s HK movies.

A friend of mine made a "Best 'Splosions!" tape a bunch of years ago. That was pretty cool.
