I have the 'Egg' poster in hi-res (teaser I assume?) and the 'Howard in chair' poster too. There is one more...

This is the German poster. I've yet to find this in hi-res.

Google isn't offering up the goods.

I have the teaser and release posters in high res, textless, and I used them to make the cover which will be a part of DJ's HD2DVD release.

Cassidy, I don't suppose I could get a copy of those, could I?

Please?

Hang in there, little fella - they'll be part of the DVD-ROM.

OK I already went back and re authored the NTSC version, was not happy at all with the volume loss from the PAL to NTSC ac3 conversion, very very noticeable,so I converted to wav, normalised it to a much higher volume, and converted back to ac3 then added the delay, made a test DVDr,and now I am happy with it,no reciever cranking now LOL,and while I was messing with it,I added some menu music to the NTSC version, just not the PAL,no need to redo that one,the sound is great.
hopefully by the weekend I will be able to up 1 of these verisons, but I will be encoding Metallica Live in Seoul South Korea from Aug. 15 2006,that is my next project.

Dark Jedi,
What features are on this release? And is it the unedited version of the film?

Thanks for all of your hard work!

Just wanted to add my support for this project. I've been a fan of this film since its release on August 1st, 1986 (still remember the release date). I cannot wait to see a widescreen version of it with all the extras. Do you know which site you will be uploading this too?

OK I am back, just finished encoding Metallica HD2DVD project, but to answer some questions,I am still not sure how I am going to up this yet,I would like to torrent, but not sure if I am still going to have problems or not,or I could just put the files on rapidshare,if I was comfortable with newsgroups I could use that, but never have upped to usenet before, special features, none, its just a basic menu with play and scene selctions, but there are alot of extras in the dvd-rom folder, plus I dont know if I should up the SL versions or the DL,decisions, decisions.
also which version first,NTSC or PAL,I am leaning towards NTSC,seems to be the most requested.

Hi!,

I'm new to this forum after stumbling across it on google when I was looking for a rip of this film on the internet, and read about this project which I think looks really damn neat what with the selection screens and stuff.

It's gotta be PAL for me since I'm in the UK.

The film seems to be shown quite a bit on German TV, and sometimes on UK TV such as BBC one (in 2004) and not so long ago on Sky movies as I just read a few pages back in this thread.

Would love to see this film!!!! .

If you need any help about newsgroups, I can help you.
I also replied in your thread asking about newsgroups and listed a very good link.

I tend to think in the direction of Usenet for large uploads like DVDs. Torrents don't get off the ground well with big stuff and it becomes a strain on everyone's bandwidth - uploader and downloader alike. And I've seen Rapidshare delete stuff (for 'violations' or whatever) that the uploader took a LONG TIME to put up there; that's not counting the slow download speed many of us get from RS. On the newsgroups, you RAR it, PAR it and up it: the news servers take care of the proliferation, so the uploader is DONE once it's upped, and the downloaders get good speed...

I just want to take a second here and give a BIG Thanks to the people that helped me get this done,so here goes,

a HUGE Thank You to Moth3r and CW,without there input and help I would have given up on this h264 shit a long time ago, also if it wasn't for Moth3r I would have never gotten into doing HD2DVD's to begin with.

Special Thanks to Slark and Baby Hum,for the KICK ASS extras and the Howard The Duck OST complete with the 2 extended songs, and in GREAT quality I might add.

and to TheCassidy,Thanks man,you are very cool and very helpful, you really wrap up our projects with the kick ass artwork, sometimes it takes a while to get the art,but its always worth the wait in the end LOL,this guy has also turned out to be 1 HELL of a friend, keep it up man!

and last but not least, everyone in this thread that has commented, giving ideas, checked out the sample vob files I did a while back, and just keeping this goofy ass Howard thread alive.

Thanks a lot DJ - I'm going to do my part once I get a copy of this to send it to people who are willing to PiF.

You can download all you want, kids, but nothing beats getting a disc in the mail!

The OST files I gave dark_jedi were downloaded off a newsgroup in January of last year. According to the comments in the ID3, they were "Ripped by NMP3 Ripper" (whoever that is). They are 192/224 VBR MP3s, and the fidelity and dynamics are NICE. I checked out a couple of the files in Sound Forge and though they show some - but not a great deal of - stereo separation, this may be just the nature of the source material...

Those pics look SWEET, DJ!
