I wish!

Curses. I was hoping to find them somewhere. I shall keep searching!

I am going to save you the trouble, and tell you that, they are not uploaded anywhere, and Citizen is MIA.

make sure you're using a Usenet client (e.g. GrabIt) and not an IRC or ICQ client.

I've used Trillian to get on IRC before, I just can't do anything past get into rooms. :/ I just wanted to get on, period. But I shall try GrabIt.

Something witty.

everstar, I was wrong about Citizen's release, they are on Demonoid. Just serch for "star wars," and it should be the first thing that pops up. Only ANH is posted in XVID currently, but the XVID is 4 Gigs and looks fantastic. There is a sample with the file if you want to watch it first.

That's all you'll be able to do with an IRC client like Trillian. If you want to do anything beyond getting into rooms, you'll either need to learn some advanced IRC commands or use a client like mIRC. Besides all that, those two programs do completely different things. Yes, Trillian can be used to get on IRC, but not on usenet. GrabIt is a good, if a bit buggy, usenet reader. Usenet and IRC are two completely separate things. Trillian is good for IRC (though I recommend mIRC) while GrabIt is good for Usenet.

Please folks: no discussion about downloading the official release - even if you have made your own "custom" version. We don't want this site to descend into a warez hotspot.

Thanks for your understanding.

Dang that sucks. I was really looking forward to his set.

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't like piracy to begin with but this site is supposed to be about preserving not pirating stuff already on DVD.

Ok, wish me luck on this.

Now after getting all the parts, just use winrar to put it back together??
Author

You may want to download quickpar for the PC or MacPar deLuxe for the MAC to allow you to check and repair the files, and then unrar with winrar on the PC or unrarX on the MAC.

MacPar deLuxe will automatically use unrarX to decompress the files, or split&concatenate to join them if required, it is fully automatic. I don't know if there is anything like that for the PC that automates the entire process.

Laserman, I sent you a PM.

Ok, so I used Quickpar on the par files, what exactly did I do? How's this go into the rars and how the heck do I recombine them? lol

Quickpar just verifies that all your rar files are intact. If any are missing or corrupt and you have enough par files to repair them, you can do that with a click of a button. Assuming all your rar files are ok, you can use WinRAR or IzArc or pretty much any archiving program that supports rar files to open the rars. Just open that .rar or .r01 file (might be able to open any of them, I've never tried that) and extract the contents to a folder on your hard drive.

Oh for the love of...

Read threads. Educate yourself. THEN ask about things.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Its posted under the name "some_b_gradejunk" and is password protected (password: BeAm Me Up Sc0Tt1E )

the original star wars .ts file was also uploaded under a 'secret name' "outofsink" (password: 0ut0fsync )which explains why noone except 'those in the know' were aware of these files.

The audio on that version of star wars is out of sync by 240ms, not sure if thats still true of the reposted MKV version.

thanks for posting!

As I mentioned, Astraweb news servers did not have most of it posted. <sigh>

Will check my brother's server tonight (newshosting)

I really need to switch to giganews.

What does everyone else use?

Damn it... I got the three HD-versions, but "some_b_gradejunk" isn't working for me. There's only audio, no video (even opening it with DGIndex doesn't work). MediaPlayerClassic (with Matroska-splitter installed, so usually TS-files work) shows that there's a video-track present, but it's unchecked, and can't be selected. Help!

ANH and ROTJ look fantastic though. Yet, some Endor scenes in ROTJ look like they're upscaled... at least they seem quite blurry. And now I'm pretty sure that the German crawls are upscaled from the German 1997 SEs.
