Personally, I think this is wrong. If cartoons made 50 years ago are not considered suitable for children of today, then make new ones. Don’t hack up the classics!

Couldn't find the thread where I discussed this with others, BUT! Eventually we'll see Tom & Jerry the way it's meant to be, in a new "Golden Collection" reminiscent of the Looney Tunes collections.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
There is a difference between releasing something on a DVD, and showing it on saturday morning cartoons.

Well, yes, but there is the issue of Mammy Two-Shoes, which the DVD sets currently switch between editions released episode-by-episode. I know we discussed it in off-topic a number of months ago, but I couldn't find the thread so I revived the first "Tom and Jerry" result in google.

These sort of things really piss me off.

I'm stuck in a loop. Thanks, bkev!
The pussification of the world we live in is crap.
Can these same people "censor" our "troubles" too? I really wish they would....seems it would be a far better tactic than censoring cartoons if they want to make the world a better place. It would also be far less intrusive than having to play a Country music song backwards just so people can get all their stuff back.....LOL
Tom & Jerry Rule!!!!!
It really is sad that changing old things has become a commonplace technique these days. After all, that's why some first editions are more valuable, because they have different/edgier text. I can't believe that even a harmless show like Tom and Jerry would receive such changes to make it more PC.
This is why I snagged a copy of the Tom & Jerry Laserdisc Box Set Vol 1. I think TCM showed the original early 1940s Christmas cartoon (along with some others) a few years back with introduction commentary by the host. Boomerang & Nick showings are pretty well cut up.
I still need to get hooked up with the original Tijuana Toads episodes. I think we'll eventually see this since I found a recent release of all The Inspectors episodes on a standalone DVD volume of the Pink Panther series.
They're being released uncut and uncensored on Blu-ray soon.
Censoring of Tom and Jerry was the reason why I started rebelling against the censors in the first place. I’ve been planning this civil rebellion for about a couple years now, but I declared war on censoring animation and illustrated books all the way back in 2015. Censoring animation was wrong then and is wrong today. By censoring their cartoons, these greedy corporations are rewriting history. I am sick and tired of it and everyone else in America should, too. Uncensored must dominate America’s home media, period.
