Jambe,

It's not often I will sit through a DVD I PURCHASE on the day that I get it, nevermind one that's free and sitting in my mailbox.

I just sat through the entire set, extras and all.

I bow down to you, sir.

This is BY FAR the best fan-created DVD I have ever seen. BY FAR.

You should seriously be proud of yourself and someone at Lucasfilm needs to hire you for the next documentary.

There are little critiques I could make but to be honest, it was damn professional and thank you for putting, what must have been a massive amount of effort into it. We're all better off for it.

For anyone who hasn't downloaded it yet, please do. If you only download one disc from this site, this is it.

Have a great night,

DF NYC

I, too, am very impressed and pleased. Very well done and a fine companion to Deleted Magic. The footage looks great.

My next project is to convert it to NTSC so I can share it with my friends. After watching the films so many times and knowing every cadence and tone and timing, it is still odd to watch them in PAL with the speedup. Kind of munchkin-esque. I use Pro-Coder which works better than anything else I've tried, but it doesn't alter the speed of the film. It's NTSC, but at PAL speed. S'odd.

Anyway, can't wait for the Jedi one.

Oh, can someone PM me about how to get to the easter egg, so I can replicate it? I love the scene, but I've only accessed it directly.

It's funny, I sort of like it in PAL. Although I'm in NTSC lad, the 4% speed increase makes the parts of the film he hasn't edited seem new. And true, right behind the Darth Editous edition of Empire, I can't wait for the treatment of Jedi.

Gang please don't convert it...

As you will loss the proper menus and the easter egg (and lose quality) just try to grab a DVD Player that can play PAL - the fact is most people can already play PAL DVD's (just check your remote for a "P/N" button if you got one you MAY be able to play PAL already!!) on there players as long as they are region free.

I have tons of friends that are old-school Star Wars fans that aren't going to go out and buy a special DVD player for one DVD. I deconstruct and completely reauthor PAL movies and menus from scratch when I do it. This had static menus, anyway. It's not hard to make new buttons work and rehide the easter egg. All the (impressive) hard work was done by Jambe.

The menus are most definitely not static. At least the main menu isn't.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

You're right, but even then, it's still not a problem.

It's not a special DVD player. Most cheapies at Wal-Mart play PAL and start at $30

It's a special DVD player in that they would have to buy an additional player just to play this one disc. You might do that, and I might do that (I even bought the old Apex AD 600A, back in the day, to play PAL), but most people who don't collect foreign DVDs won't.

I have about 3 or 4 friends whom I'd like to give a copy of this disc, but I can't obligate them to have to shell out even $30 for a new player for one disc. Nor are they going to replace their perfectly good players with a $30 one. Heck, my primary player is a 400 disc changer. If my additional"PAL/NTSC" player wasn't also a recorder, I sure wouldn't replace my primary player with a $30 Wal-Mart cheapie.

Besides, isn't it an odd thing to admonish in a forum about fan edits?

I'm just so impressed with Jambe's work (as I was with OCP's), that I want to share it with my closest Star Wars fanatic friends without putting them out too much.

To the others:The HD/BR thing is pretty irrelevant. Not everyone jumps on the newest technology right away. Even the new digital TV requirement is only going to affect those with rabbit ears on their TV. Anyone with cable will just have to upgrade their service to use the digital box. It's not going to force everybody to buy new HDTVs or even digital TVs. Our TVs aren't suddenly going to be obsolete.

How about you just read what I wrote?

It was actually related to the topic at hand and a very GOOD reason to do it in NTSC now. PAL will be pointless later.

These? If you want Building Empire, the best way to find out how to do it is to read the forum thread.

I hope you enjoy it.
