Other than that, I have some personal projects I'm working on. Not sure which I'm going to tackle next. Maybe one of the Jaws discs since they won't be that difficult.

I'm a little lost. What do you need, The Audio from the Criterion LD ? I can Send it to you.

nope. from the DC laserdisc. people were complaining that they didn't like the mix that was used in the broadcast.

thanks to DigitalFreakNYC we have now a decent copy of The Making of Temple of doom.

Here is an alternate cover for it I am working on. I still need to write the text on the back cover. I made it to match the covers designed by Rikter, if I remember correctly, based on the Laserdisc.

Very nice job! A note, though, both of ours were done from the laserdiscs.

I know, it made my own LD to DVD transfers for the Making of Raiders and Last Crusade.

What is your source for the Temple of Doom, a VHS ? a Betamax tape ?

VHS.

It was my original VHS recording for the video.

The audio was from someone else's. It was the best audio I could find that had the least amount of hiss and also was high enough as well.

It was seriously a bitch to try and get the best possible version out there. Seems like the quality is pretty average on all of them...and mine was much better than a few that I got. Like I said, I had to piece together the audio for the end credits from about 4 different recordings to not have the announcer talking over it.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the results. No, they don't match up to the laserdisc releases but it would be difficult to when this only aired in 84 when the movie came out. I even got a copy from Babyhum and mine was still better. Back then they actually made quality VHS so maybe that's why it looks pretty good.

I understand. Too bad it was never released in Laserdisc like the two other Making of.

By the way, Heroes and Sidekicks dvd was shipped today

Sweet! THank you!

What about the Entertainment Tonight?

I'm still trying to get a copy of the US version of Heroes and Sidekicks. I also might have a lead on some other vintage Indy stuff. Seeing how I could work it out. I have to trade.

What's going on with Dracula?

hahaha...thanks.

Dracula is coming. It's a bit more complicated that the others...but...yeah. I'm not sure if that's going to be next now. I might get some other smaller releases out first before I jump into that.

No plans at the moment. I might do it since it's sitting on my PC right now. I'm waiting to hear back from people to see if it's better than the last one I did.

Well if you don't happen to do it is there some way I can delete the extra stuff and just have the movie, is there some way I can do that with the 2 disc one you uploaded at my splean. If so what files do I delete when I download to just get the movie with out all the extra stuff in the Video_Ts folder, so i can just do it my self some how. Also I'm trying to download the 2 disc blade runner like I said before , but there is not enough seeders and to many leechers. Because of this The download said it would take 7 days to complete just to get it even with my fast connection, is there some way else I can get the 2 disc version with out having to go through this process or can someone possibly send me the disc in the mail..

Ps. keep up the great work.

Many Thanks

Hacker,

Do you have a dual-layer burner? This set is essentially equivalent to 3 single layer discs. Even if I put this other version up, you'd have even LESS seeders (it would be just me). Even if there are a lot of leechers, that's not a problem because you'd be leeching off of them. That's the whole point. You don't have to worry about the one seeder until you get there.

Well I only only have a single layer burner thats why I thougth just having the movie with without all the extra stuff would work because the movie is all I need. If you just put the movie up with just you seeding that would be fine, aleast I would be getting just the movie instead of all the extra stuff. So if you can just put up the movie that would be great, I don't mind just having one seeder for something like that.

No. Just the movie is still dual-layered. I'm not doing a single-layer version.

If you want a single layered version, you should buy the version that's out there.

Well can someone send my a copy of the disc then, if someone has done it on their burner. I would like to get ahold of this if possible if I can't do it my self, maybe that can be a another option.

I really cant see the point here. If you want a single layer version why not just download the dual layer and run it through DVD-shrink. But then again, if you are going to do this, you may aswell just be content with the official release.
People on these boards are kind and try to help others out as best they can, but asking someone to make you a single layered version of one of their projects is too much - especially when there is a perfectly good reson for it being dula layer in the first place!

Some torrent clients give you the option to only download the files you want. In this case, you just need to download the main movie files, VTS_01_x.VOB.

You can then create a d2v project from these files using DGIndex, use AVISynth to remove every duplicate 5th frame, and re-encode to single layer size.

You can then remux in the audio (alternatively, extract the original 2-channel Dolby Surround mix from the official DVD and use that instead of the "fake" 5.1 mix. You would need to check for sync, though).

Or you could wait to see if Rikter is going to do a single layer version.

And don't use DVDShrink, unless you're only planning to watch this on a 14" portable.

Well I guess I will just stick with digitalfreaknyc official release, but can someone just send me a copy of digitalfreaknyc HDTV dual-layer version in the mail if they have made one aldready, so I can have a copy on disc to watch for myself, maybe we can work something out. Also you guys have given great advice, but since I don't have a dual layer burner maybe this way could work as I have said above since I'm not able to put the whole thing on disc.

Many thanks
