Nice. My only suggestion would be to unclutter the bottom of the DVD--everyone here knows what they're holding, no one's getting any disc info off the disc itself, all the labels and stuff do is distract from the art.

I think you missed earlier in the thread where Zion said that the the stuff at the bottom IS what tells him what is on the discs.

So I guess Zion is getting disc info off the disc itself.

Right, that's the whole point of this system... mine are almost identical to these, but without the movie logos, and using the crawl font for the version info.

Yeah, I'm not printing up covers and storing my DVDs in cases, so these logos tell me what's what as I flip through my 300-disc zip wallet. If you like these, you can download the psd file I'll be upping and hide the logos.

I made a few changes to the template today and I'm calling it done for now. The screenshots above have been updated. As you can see, I have added an extras template as well.

You can download the PSD file here. (31MB)
Note: This is a Photoshop CS2 file, 1393x1393 @ 300dpi. You may have trouble opening the file in earlier versions of Photoshop.

Enjoy.

Just a note, My V2 is anamorphic, not letterbox. Other than that those labels look great.

Thanks for the great template Zion! I store all my DVDs in a zip case now that I'm at school and this will work great for locating them easier!

And to just add something about stick on labels, after experimenting more with my DVDs, I've found out that the stick-labels changed nothing of the outcome of the disc. It was either the brand of disc I was using, or the speed. I burn all my stuff now with HP DVD-Rs at 4x (the discs are rated 8x) and use stick on labels all the way to the hub, and I've had no problems so far. Unfortunately, I have to reburn all the DVDs I burned beforehand. Groan. Such is life.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

Did you make the "Dolby PCM Digital Surround" logo yourself?

To me, it would make more sense to use two separate logos - one for Dolby Surround (not Dolby Digital):

http://www.cyfraplus.pl/img/podstrony/113-tech-cyfrowa/LogoDolbySurround.gif

and one for PCM, eg:

or even just:

In that case, it is correct, although I don't know why anyone would continue watching V1.

It is only used as an example, seeing as it is both letterbox and PCM. It's also still one of the best letterbox transfers to date.

Moth3r, I got that logo from Rikter if I'm not mistaken. Is it not a real logo?

I can see what your saying, though I wouldn't want to add a second logo for audio. But doesn't the PCM audio come from Dolby anyway? Or at least created with Dolby equipment? It is surround encoded after all.

Yes it is Dolby Surround encoded. However, PCM is not Dolby Digital (it has not been compressed with the AC3 codec).

Maybe someone with a 4:3 TV, you wants a sharper picture with correct black level and an absence of temporal ghosting?
