Mpeg-1 Audio on DVD - Help required

I am using my mac and Cinematize to rip from a DVD.

It rips the video fine but as the audio tracks are "Unspecified Mpeg-1" and Final Cut Pro 4.5 won't accept them if I decode them using either of the two options - "Elementary Stream" and "Mpeg-2 Program Stream"

Does anybody have any tips on how I can get this audio extracted to work in FCP?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
J

"Unspecified MPEG-1" is probably MPEG-1 Layer 2, as that's what you will find on a DVD. Did you rip it as an elementary stream (i.e. audio only file with extension .mpa or .mp2)? If so, try decompressing to PCM (.wav) and loading that instead.

Thanks Moth3r.

I've already managed to find a program that coverts the elementary stream to AIFF called Mpeg Streamclip. AIFF's are much easier for use in FCP.
