I think that for a laserdisc transfer, I like the cowclops v2 because of the PCM audio. Even though it isn't a straight laserdisc transfer, I think that the Classic Edition series is the best in video quality.

I'll have to go with ocp's version as well, it does use LD material and DVD to get the best results.

But I have the Dr Gonzo Definitive versions too and they are absolutely great presentations. Skye, you forgot about those.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

I think I've got a certain right to be included in this list ..... as creating the best available OOT DVD was in fact my goal. =)

Thanks for everyone who voted for my set, although I do think Citizen's versions have the overall advantage over mine. (But he's not finished RoTJ yet, and, thanks in no small part to Metallaxis, my versions are more widespead.)

It is encouraging to see so many versions, each one showing a slight improvement over the last. I'd like to think I've made a useful contribution - before I came to the forum, no one had really explored using the PAL laserdiscs as a source (except maybe Karyudo and grisan), all the available transfers were from the NTSC Faces/DC discs.

Between Citizen and myself, I think we've raised the standard for the X0 project to aim for...

Well, the main reason I really appreciate your versions is that they're in crystal-clear PAL. Being from Europe, it's one pretty damn big relief to finally have the OOT on PAL DVD! I've been wanting to download Citizen's high-res XviDs for laptop-viewing, but all this newsgroup stuff is beyond me! Gimme a torrent anyday!

Well, it looks like the Moth3r set is the one. My next question is, how do I get a set? Specifically, the NTSC one. Is that the Citizen reinventing the wheel version? Newsgroups are not an option for me. Is there torrents? Can someone hook me up? Trades? Please PM me. Many thanks.

Is that the Citizen reinventing the wheel version?

Nop, the NTSC version of moth3rs trilogy is "Dr. M's Reinventing the Wheel"

My next question is, how do I get a set?

I don't have the NTSC one so I point you towards Rikter or if you contact Dr.M himself.
