I have a bit of sympathy for the guy, getting razzie awards and being abused by a "fan" and whatelse, I thought he was alright in Revenge of the Sith, and from what ive heard hes ok in other films.

ROTS was NOT nominated for worst picture, so it's the best accomplishment GL had with the prequels in 7 years!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

YAY!

George Lucas was seduced by the dark side. The OOT ceased to exist in his mind and became the Special Editions...." "They're more maching now than movies. Twisted and evil."

Aww, poor Hayden. That guy gets such a bad rap. I put 80% of the blame on GL for his sucky performance. Hayden took his role seriously. I mean the guy actually took the initiative to beef up for his role in ROTS. I can't even loose the 5 pounds I've wanted gone since Christmas. I, of course, still hate Anakin but I don't have anything against the actor.

And I still don't understand. If the PT (and according to George Lucas - the ENTIRE Star Wars saga) is about Anakin, why is Hayden a "supporting" actor to Ewan? Don't you think that if the movie is about Anakin, that the guy who is playing him should be first on the marque? It would be like putting Harrison Ford before Mark Hamill? WTF?

I've always wondered that too. Boggles the mind.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

HC doesn't deserve that, if anyone deserves a dig from the media over the PT it's the script writer/director.

I'll bash the Razzies as much as I want, thank you very much!

Hayden is a decent actor. It all comes down to Lucas' writing and directing. Hayden thought Anakin was too whiny and unlikeable in AOTC, but Lucas persisted. Hayden just did what he was told to do, which is a pretty good idea since that's what he gets his salary for. "Who's the more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows him?"
"The things that stick in my mind and make me laugh were, like, memos worried about whether or not the Wookie should have pants. They're looking at this thing and saying, "Couldn't he have some lederhosen?" This is great. Of all the things to worry about, the Wookie has no pants." -Mark Hamill

The nomination is an insult! Hayden was a lead actor, not a supporting actor.

I actually love his delivery of that line. It was corny, but it was a perfect way to transform that nice old man into pure evil.

I'm going to rent "Shattered Glass." I'd like to see what Hayden could have done had he been allowed to act.

It proves that Hayden can in fact act well.

seriously all the actors in the prequels can act, just not under lucas' direction

Hayden did the best with the script and direction he got. Whether you liked him as Vader or not, it took balls to want to put on that iconic suit and suffer the fanboy baggage that comes with it. It's certainly not at the derserving depths of a razzie award (look at the other nominees!) and it's sure as hell not a supporting role. These razzie guys just lost some credibility in my eyes.

I always hear about Hayden's bad acting, but people rarely complain about Natalie Portman's practically unwatchable performance in all three prequels. Yet, she does the movie "Closer" and gets nominated for an Oscar.

That should prove to everyone how important a director's role is in getting a good performance out of an actor. There are no good actors, only good directors. And actors really have to trust the director they're working for isn't going to make them look foolish.

God, even Anthony Hopkins (voted best actor of all time) has been made to look bad. Anyone remember "Bad Company" with him and Chris Rock?

In short, it's not Hayden's fault. Like someone else has already pointed out, "Life as a House" and "Shattered Glass" were both top-notch.

Maybe Hayden should try playing a psychopath in a different film with a director who is NOT George Lucas, maybe then people would lay off of him. Or maybe a gay cowboy.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.
