So there were no easter eggs on the Star Wars Classic Edition?

How do those patch thingies work? I've seen other DVD posts someplace fixed by a patch. I'm guessing someone has to have both versions, and then generate some sort of .exe that can write the differences to the new file? Might be a bit of a bother up front, but then the solution should be significantly smaller than having to re-post a whole DVD at some point.

In fact, maybe only an .ifo and a .bup need to be changed? Something like that?

If someone's got both versions and is interesting in pursuing this, then I'll find out more about how to make a patch.

Why doesn't everyone upload .ISOs instead of those stupid VTS_folders with all those .vobs? I recently downloaded the fanfiltration of Dune, only to have to delete it because it wasn't an .iso & i couldn't find a program to burn it with.

Seriously, why can't everyone just upload .ISO (???)

Great idea -- sounds like an offer I can't refuse!
I've got both versions, and I'm interesting [sic]

In the worst case scenario, if it involves more than just .IFOs -- even if the four .VOBs I quoted above need to be patched, the total patch size shouldn't exceed 32MB.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

You need to use ImgTool Classic to make ISO images of each disc. Then use MakePPF to create a patch to transform the older ISO into the correct one. Finally send Karyudo the ppf file, and the ppf-o-matic program.

Max. allowable image sizes in signatures: reminder here

Because you can burn VOBs, in any program.

Well, you should have no problem burning a VIDEO_TS folder using any mainstream burning app, mac or pc. Most apps will have an option to make a video dvd from that VIDEO_TS folder that you downloaded. Even if that option doesn't exist, choose to make a data dvd-rom (UDF format) and include the "VIDEO_TS" folder and, if it isn't included with your download, create and include a blank folder named "AUDIO_TS". Burn and you should have no problems whatsoever. Not everyone's computers have the ability to easily make an .ISO image file.

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

What version are you using? Nero 6 and 7 seems to burn .VOBs just fine.

Do you have Nero selected to burn DVDs? When you open Nero Burning ROM (not Express or the Wizard or anything), and the "New Compilation" window comes up, in the top left corner is the disc type selection, that's normally set for CDs. Drop down the menu and select DVD. Select "DVD Video" and drag the files into the already-there VIDEO_TS folder. I had the same trouble for a while before I realized that selection was there.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Speaking of dvd errors, ANH has an audio issue in the chapter selections of the myspleen copy (ie: the transitions between different menus), is this fixed with a dvd I could email you for, ocpmovie? or did something just not download properly with the myspleen copy and i should just retry it?

There is no audio during the transitions. I couldn't make it work in DVD Studio Pro, so I stopped using transitions for ESB and Jedi.

I wonder if OCP has an edition of a certain TV special in works.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

No, but I hope Skot does! He's got all the stuff. He asked for my help at one point, but nothing came of it.

I only posted that lyric because I'd only just last night figured out the two words. =D

I actually emailed a woman who worked on the original "Wasting Electricity" ad campaign in Canada, which inspired that bizarre scene. Curious what her thoughts will be if she responds.

When is this going to be uploaded to Myspleen? I've been anticipating it for some time now, since TESB is my favorite SW film.

Ok, so...would anyone care to send me a copy of this? I'll gladly pay it forward to three people should someone send me one. PM me if so! Thanks!

I'm sure ocpmovie would love to send you a copy. You should help out THE man and get it directly from the source. The money you'd spend on PIF'ing several copies would be more than just getting it directly from him. All good? His email is in this thread many times.

It seems I overestimated.

JoJoDiff gave a total patch size roughly 3MB
while Xdelta came in under a meg!

I just downloaded this, and let me say first off, overall it's great.

However, three quibbles:

1) Any time a scene has been re-encoded to cut out any SE stuff, the framerate really suffers, and it becomes jerky and quite annoying (also true of SW:CE, but not very noticeable there).

2) The opening crawl - you're not supposed to see the stars inside the STAR WARS lettering, it's supposed to be solid black, but not on this DVD (I didn't notice it in SW:CE at all).

3) I personally feel the lightsaber re-rotoscoping could have been done better.

Other than that, great job - I especially liked your editing of McDiarmid's voice in place of Rivell's on the alternate audio track.

Downloading Jedi as I type!
