I have been considering doing an edit of AOTC with a ton of narrative changes and rearranging some scenes (eg. Shmi’s funeral taking place at the end of the film. If I were to, I’d hybrid TPM and AOTC into one hour thirty something movie, from the pov of Anakin and Padme.

Any thoughts on how to make the battle droids less silly or better still actually sinister? They look skeletal maybe having them scream machine code like the skeleton warriors in Jason and the Argonauts as they charge into battle would be unnerving. Or maybe have their eyes change as they go into attack mode.

Forgive me if this idea belongs in the ‘Worst Ideas’ thread, but had an idea of now some of us are able to use a.i generated audio what about replacing the opening crawl with a narration of the crawl instead.
So for say The Phantom Menace you would have Quigon, for Attack of the clones Padame and Revenge of the Sith Anakin.
Obviously this may belong in the worst ideas thread but hearing it in my head sounds pretty cool and a bit of a call back to some of the old fantasy films.

I think this is no worst idea. Especially TCW fans will like it.

I think it would be cool to change Palpatines line to Anakin at the end of the movie to something that implies that palpatine is freeing his mom? Maybe we could even add her to the celebrations at the end. I think such a change would greatly benefit the dynamic between Palpatine and Anakin. The Jedi didnt free his mom and even forbid him to see her, but Palpatine freed her and through him he is able to stay in contact with her.
This way we could also easily cut Watto’s scene from episode 2. There’s no explanation needed to where she is if it is implied that Palpatine is keeping contact with her on Anakin’s behalf.

You could alter the one exchange between Anakin and Palpatine in TPM to something like:
“And YOU, young Skywalker, maybe we can do something about freeing your mother.”

It’s a really cool idea but I do think it helps more if she isn’t freed as that would drive his anger even more at the Jedi for not helping especially when you think of what he did to help them in TPM.
Just my thoughts tho, still a very cool idea.

Count Dooku was originally supposed to reveal that he had Anakin’s mother killed in Episode 3. Of course, that would mean Palpatine had it done by proxy.
The original Episode 3 script was kinda wild in that way. Palpatine would essentially be Anakin’s dad because he created him through the midichlorians, he orchestrated his mother’s death, and was planting the visions of Padme’s death. I think in the end George probably felt that this was too far and took away Anakin’s own agency in his tragedy.

Are there any Fan Edits that change Dooku’s lightsaber to blue and try to make him more of a dark Jedi?
I have another (overly ambitious) fan edit idea which is probably more of a rewrite then anything but I still want to talk about it lol 😃
So, what if Dooku wasn’t in league with Sidious and if he was a C’baoth type of characer instead. Who starts a war with the corrupt republic because in his opinion the Jedi ought to rule. If there is any way to incorporate Dooku into Episode I, he could already alude to these views when he’s on the council (Just have him call the Republic corrupt and say that its time to start over or smth). In Episode II we then learn that Dooku has fallen to the dark side. The Jedi might even suspect that Dooku is the Sith that they are looking for. It would also make perfect sense if Dooku had ordered the clone army. After all he is of the opinion that the Jedi should rule and they ought to have an army to dictate their will “The Will of The Force!” to their subjects. The Kaminoans even explain that this army was made for the Jedi so that fits.
Meanwhile Palpatine stays in the shadows. With Dooku starting a war he doesn’t need to do anything, there is a mad Jedi raging war on the galaxy, that should make it easy to turn public opinion against them and while the Jedi might suspect that Dooku is the Sith he has nothing to worry about.
The Jedi only resume their search for Sidious after Dooku’s demise because despite his fall the dark side still lingers and appears to have only grown stronger…
I think something similar to this might actually be possible in a fan edit. Its really mostly just about recontextualising Dooku as a dark Jedi instead of a Sith. Obviously it would contradict any other prequel media, but I think it there is a really cool “what if” story in there.

I would vote purple, but either way it would require a lot of work, maybe impossible, to fix the lighting during his duel in the dark with Ani

So I’ve been internally debating what to do in regards to Tatooine. Because I want to keep the suspense of the droids’ journey in ANH, but the more I thought about it, changing Anakin’s home world may contradict the OT itself. Specifically when Ben says that Owen thought Anakin “should’ve stayed here and not gotten involved.”
So I wonder if perhaps the solution is to have it so Tatooine went through radical changes in the time between the PT and OT. Perhaps in the PT its a bit more lively (still a desert, but more wildlife and sources of water) whereas in the OT its become more of a wasteland, perhaps due to the Empire exploiting it for all its resources. That way the audience won’t recognize it as Tatooine immediately.

I’m getting old but there is a PT set where Dooku has a purple sabre like Mace suggesting they are both high ranking Jedi. Dooku is genuinely trying to defeat the Sith but from outside the Republic. Arrgghh which one was it? Help us out guys.
