segaflip is on break but maybe someone else can clear this one out for me.

segaflip posted Editdroid Ep4, Ep5 and Ep6 (all with content and jacket_p folders) to a.b.sw, starting from 10/5/2005 ending 10/7/2005 . are these the same ones that are on myspleen plus the rar packs (containing the art, script and jacket_p stuff)? or better yet are the ones offered on myspleen currently the "ones" to download (have them on hdd with the rar packs)? ...maybe i should ask that on another thread...

sega posted a iso file and it would save me lots of time if i wouldn´t have to download these again.

The .VOB files are identical.
The .IFO files are different.

The .ISO files segaflip posted were mastered by Nero.

In my brief experience with Nero (and one of the reasons I no longer use Nero)
I found that Nero will in some cases change an .IFO file it doesn't like for whatever reason.
Worse yet, it won't ask your permission first, it won't tell you it's changing the file, and it won't freshen the file's timestamp to indicate it's been modified.
Nero's authors should be ashamed.

I suspect (but cannot prove) that's what happened with segaflip's EditDroid set.
segaflip has stated he received the discs via trade.
I think somebody, somewhere along the line, downloaded the myspleen files, burned them with Nero, and Nero changed the .IFO files, before they ended up in segaflip's hands.

Of course there's no guarantee the myspleen files match the EditDroid masters either. They might have been changed.

And here's a bit more evidence against Nero:
The Japanese Special Collection discs segaflip sent me were mastered by Nero.
segaflip posted Special Collection .SFV checksums (presumably generated from original discs sent by dark_jedi)
but the .IFO checksums don't match the Nero copies (changed by Nero, I suspect) which segaflip sent to me.

segaflip's a nice guy and all, but he might consider using better software than Nero if he cares about checksums like he's stated previously.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Darth Mallwalker, what do you suggest to burn with, because i too use NERO sometimes, especially if i am adding a dvd-rom folder or have to do multiple copies, but when i burn just 1 copy with NO dvd-rom folder i use Ebly's clonedvd2,so what is another option to use if doing multiples and adding dvd-rom folder for art,NFO extras, etc.?
thanks for your help

I would guess that he would use IMG Tool Classic to make an ISO file and then burn the ISO with DVD Decrypter. This in my eyes is a pain in the ass, but yes it would not change the files.

Question, If you check the varify button, and Nero changes the files shouldn't the varify fail then? Also does Nero change files that are within an ISO file?

I use IMG tool classic for my releases - not sure if it will include DVD-ROM content or jacket folders.

It will include anything in the source dir.

If Nero changes the ifo files, it should notify you, upon verification, that the files are different. However, I have occasionally found this not to happen. The way I burn DVDs in Nero is to include an md5 checksum in the root directory that verifies every file is identical to the source files on my hard drive. Very rarely does Nero change an ifo file and when it does I am sure to catch it with this method. Usually a simple restart is enough to fix the problem on a subsequent burn.

P.S. - Segaflip, thank you for all your hard work in posting these to the newsgroups. I know we all really appreciate it.

Hi Segaflip,

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I wanted to thank you very much for the fills you put up on a.b.sw - I'm just burning the discs out now.

Once again, thankyou so much for going to the trouble for little-ol-me.

I just purchased the following dvd:

http://i6.ebayimg.com/01/i/05/7d/b3/ef_1.JPG

I'd be willing to PIF. There are several other dvd's listed on OT.com that I'm looking for. I'd like to trade copies if possible. Also, I'll be picking up these original print dvd's:

** I also have original copies of TROOPS (Total Movie Magazine), Hardware Wars, and George Lucas in Love. I don't have the bandwidth available to download the discs that I'm looking for, so I'd hope to trade. Drop me an email if interested.

I hate to be a nag but any word on when Generation Jedi will be posted? I've been dying to see this one.

Thanks for all your great work, segaflip!

The Star Wars stuff is posted at alt.binaries.starwars. The non-Star Wars content gets posted at other places like alt.binaries.superman. Right now, I see a.b.starwars showing Citizen's ESB xvid, DarkJedi's Faces set, and the video gamje cutscenes disc.

Hey segaflip,

Thanks for the Citizen's NTSC DVD9 ESB post, just finished it today. Could you add Citizen's NTSC DVD9 Ep. 4 ANH to your que list? Then all I have to do is patiently wait on Citizen's ROTJ, when it's released.

Thanks again.

Hey, Segaflip.

How about I post "Star Trek Phase II - "In Thy Image", and "Blax25 - WNMHGB"?

I figure you've got a ton of stuff in your to-post stack, and I have an old request to repost Phase II.

Thanks for all your postings, by the way.

One day I found... 10 years had got behind me. Next day was worse.

Download  shows from Cable DVR (Updated! Yes, it needs a rewrite, but it's worth slogging through, anyway).
