It’s been a locked room for almost 20 years now, and the people who got locked in all those decades ago frequently don’t know how to act anymore, LOL. If they ever did, considering when it was that the doors got nailed shut.
Surely it is more like 10 years? Are we now that old? (Don’t answer that!)… 😉

What was the reason they closed up shop again?

^ Sadly, IMHO, it is becoming an all-to-familiar story on here in recent times as well.
Why is sandstorm still b&w? Because they don’t want to (or can’t) track down uncut negative and conform it to dailies edit?
I’m not sure mate - though this is all a ‘Work In Progress’ project. Some scenes and shots simply may have been uploaded on more of a stage-by-stage process before they are ‘final’? Maybe, hopefully, we’ll see uploads of more complete / final shots later. 👍
NEW SCREENSHOT COMPARISON - AND A NEW VIDEO CLIP - FROM STAR WARS…
For these comparisons: the folks over at blu-ray.com are complaining that the source of the 4k is not lossless. Whoever is making them, can you please use the original disc - if you’re not?
The folks (or rather the same few vocal naysayers) at blu-ray.com are once again incorrect - and way off the mark.
The source of the 4K UHD image screenshot comparisons are the official 4K UHD discs.
The actual reason is a recent (mid-October-ish) compression issue with the platform from which these images comparison shots are originally being shared on that was the problem. The platform understandably has size limits and quotas for what they could host / share… and since mid-October_(-ish)_ have compressed the images uploaded there since - which was unbeknownst to us - until we found out last night.
So when I saved the images from there and then reuploaded them to Imgur (as to not use the platform’s limited bandwidth or be traced back to source etc)… I was inadvertently saving compressed images. For unknowingly doing that I apologise.
However, this recent compression change would have affected all the screenshot comparisons images taken from there; for the ALI, the UHD, the 2011 blu ray, and the 4K77/80/83 images used - NOT just the UHD - which is the apparent focus of their attention.
So such recent claims from blu-ray.com as…
‘…we have been collectively misled to perceive that the UHD BR transfers as are far inferior than they truly are.’
‘The fact that the uploader(s) have not publicly acknowledged and corrected the record with these demonstrably inaccurate images nor clarified weeks ago these comparisons were wrong, raises a whole host of concerns and questions.’
and…
‘…and now the clearly fuzzed UHD caps blatantly putting the thumb on the scale in the leaks’ favour.’
‘…they have done a disservice to themselves and the SW community by uploading images from the official UHD BR transfers which are demonstrably inaccurate to the source and creates false disparity when comparing them to the ALI images.’
…are not only woefully incorrect - but are also without merit.
Much like many of the previously incorrect claims and assertions made on there (though latterly acknowledged as being false / mistaken)… they also form part of the reason why I personally choose to try and avoid such small minorities of vocal naysayers who are both quick to jump to conclusions and make accusatory remarks without even a cursory look at the wider picture (a bizarre ‘shoot first - ask questions later’ rinse n’ repeat approach).
Instead, they could have simply reached out on here with any queries or issues - instead they chose not to - and we are treated to yet more of the above. So, my apologies digitalfreaknyc, yet I hope you understand that is why I won’t be commenting on / replying to anything coming from there in the future. Life is just too short. Others can do as they wish, of course. 👍
