Yeah, the post was screwed in the creation process. I'm creating a new post now and should start uploading tonight or early tomorrow. Sorry for the grief!

Currently reposting "Ocpmovie ESB Classic Edition.part079.rar"

My system crashed while posting and didn't finish it.

I have a question for the usenet posters out there. If I'm including a 15% set of par2 files, do I need to include an sfv file? And, what should the sfv file be created from? Meaning, I've seen sfv's from the split rars and I've seen them made from video_ts folders. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

My post of Moth3r's ANH will resume tonight and I'll try to fill any incompletes as I see them on Newshosting. My connection has been somewhat buggy today. grrrr

Currently posting a new set of rars and pars for Gonzo's ANH. Don't download the previous post, it's screwed. Also, don't try to intermix the two posts. That would probably not work real well. I would like to thank Grendel for his help in tracking down the problem with my old ANH post.

In the queue:

Moth3r's ESB
Ocpmovie's SW Classic Edition
Ocpmovie's Return of the Ewok
Ocpmovie's ROTJ Classic Edition (both SL & DL, when ocpmovie says it's OK to release it)

Feel free to make requests. I have a LOT of stuff... I'm also open to posting things for people. Just PM me...

There are only the SL versions of those two.

I have a few rough details of all the OCP releases here (although I really should get myself sorted out and add all the rest of the details of the releases).

Also, did I read somewhere about an OCP Star Wars Auditions DVD too??

4 - 5 - 3 - 1 - 6 - 2

ADM's Episode I DVD9 is still available through giganews. It was posted by segaflip on October 27. I think that Episode IV has been posted before but does not show up currently through giganews.

No, you don't need to include an SFV file for Usenet posts. SFVs are more often used for transferring files by other methods (esp. FTP), and are normally used to check the RAR volumes.

However, it is useful to post some form of verification at the start of the post, either an SFV or the first PAR2 file, so that downloaders can identify any bad files before the PAR2 recovery volumes appear.

Well, I'm looking right now and all parts are available. The oldest binary post available through giganews in absw is from Ocotber 25th. Giganews advertises approx. 70 days of binary retention. So, If you're accessing through giganews you should be able to get it for a few more days.

Actually I just ran a full update for alt.binaries.starwars and they've purged everything before October 29th... you probably just hadn't done a recent update so the files were still showing.

Actually, I just downloaded several of the pars and rars, so the files are still there. Really. If your'e accessing through giganews, there would seem to be a problem on your end. I can still download files from October 25th.

I'll try unsubscribing from a.b.starwars and download all the message headers again.

Yancy

EDIT: Okay figured out what the problem was, I use GrabIt to manage my giganews account, but for some reason it was only downloading headers through the 29th... switched to my email client and it worked.

Answering quick questions -

Yes, there is an auditions disc from OCP (me). It's sourced from a bootleg VHS bought at Comic Con one year.

Nothing fancy, but it's different from Rikter's (slightly better I think) and contains really high quality versions of The Saga Begins and the Richard Pryor Cantina, sourced from official DVDs in both cases.

Some people have it. It's known as OCP's audition remix.

>> Movealong, are there also DL Versions of Episode IV and V from OCP?

No, Star Wars and Empire were created specifically for the single layer format and a dual layer was not attempted.

Actually, a slightly dual layer version of Empire does exist. It's about 5 gigs I think and it's never been released. It might come out when Jedi does. But the extra data is SO slight that there is no visible quality difference whatsoever from the single layer. Which explains why it was never released!

A bit of a delay due to several severe hangovers. But here it finally is. I'm uploading ANH to a.b.starwars right now. If anyone wants to torrent it on myspleen, be my guest. Look for "Grinder's Star Wars Original Trilogy - Episode IV".

That's no moon. It's a LaserDisc.
