It is. Like I said, Im a beginner, but I did fix this. In the original clip, the camera pans aside and I didn’t notice until yesterday. I ended up adding slight key frame to the png image to match the panning of the frame.

Hey Guys! Drafted a trailer for my edit with some of the changes including:

• Color-graded scenes to look like evening sun (desert scenes)
• added binary sunset to a shot of Luke’s house (desert scene)
• Added new line (not finished, just a draft) of Vader saying You will try (from ROTS) instead of him responding to Obi-Wan with Then you will die
• A draft of my logo appearing. I am not fully satisfied with the Hunt for the jedi logo outro just yet, since this was just a quick trailer draft, but I am working with a friend of mine to make it 3D with my desited effects.

There are a few things that are not finished that I did not include in the edit that I have edited (and sent updates about) such as

• the edited Vader vs Obi-Wan finale duel with the blue thunderstorm and new music
• Removed Jawa cart frame (see earlier updates)
• Final Outro Logo for Hunt for the Jedi

Sources I used to get inspiration, clips, and audio for the trailer:

• Disney+ official Teaser Trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi
• The Kai Patterson Cut Trailer (I used his own added shot of a stormtrooper standing in front of a fire in the trailer, and I plan to use it in the actual edit)
• A fan-made trailer from YouTube made by AD_Edits (I used audio from his trailer to extract the lines that the character say.
• I used a track from SoundCloud called Star Wars: Battle of the Heroes | Battlefront 2 Trailer Music Style by Venator-class Star Destroyer for the backing track.

This looks purdy interesting, I’ll say. The trailer is pretty good.

I noticed the Darth Vader saying YOU WILL TRY. I’m assuming it was just Anakin’s line re-synthesized with a Darth Vader voicemod or something. It doesn’t sound horrible, it just sound unatural and too much like Anakin, not James Earl Jones, in my opinion. Have you tried any AI tts engines with a Vader voice for the actual scene?

I like the prequel parallels you added, the nostalgia is always a great touch. The music is pretty good too.

Count me interested. This is definitely something new while I impatiently await pixel joker to (sorry) hurry the hell up. (Jk kinda)

Also, is this edit cutting out Haja Estree? I noticed in your changelist, you mentioned a couple base edits that cut out Haja. Please dont. He is the best.

That is correct.

I looked at some AI voices, and the weren’t very good, at least the free ones. Is there any suggestions on what are the best ways to replicate a Vader Voice?

I would never 😉! Haja is a great character.

Have you tried 101soundboards? They have tons of options. You can also try climb Vader’s voice urself with a voice cloner online or on desktop. You input a recording and then it mimics the voice.

For this scene its working pretty well. Its slow and annoying sometimes, but it does the job. thought of releasing this with the title: Kenobi: The Free Cut and challenge myself only to use free materials, such as free stock videos, free video editors, free ai audio generators, and etc. just for fun and as a challenge (and also because I don’t wanna waste money on softwares that will take ages to learn how to use well.)

Awesome! HUGE improvement over the original. And I love the Blue in the sky to counteract the previous battle where it was fiery Red. Very nice work

Thanks I appreciate the support. I got the idea from PixelJoker95’s trailers and stuff, but couldn’t wait for it to come out. This clip took me about 1.5 hours to do, so I’m hoping a couple days will get a full duel (or minimum 75% of the way through.

Saw this idea on Acbagel’s Legends Kenobi Thread and found this comment which I think I want to implement while editing this scene:

-Removed Vader’s line “And that is why you will always lose” as he breaks the ground, rough sfx replaced (can be polished later)
-Cropped out vader of wide shot of ground breaking for visual continuity.
-Removed vader’s line “Did you really think you could defeat me?” after he buries him.
-Rearranged shots of Vader walking away for better flow

The one key change remaining to tie this whole idea together is somehow changing the final shots of the rock burying so that Vader’s helmet is still sliced in half. I don’t know who would have the special effects skills to do this but perhaps a community effort would achieve this.

Dude that looks simply amazing, though I did notice a few errors for you to check out…

First, I saw that at the 2nd shot of Vader and his ship, about 10 seconds in, the layered blue flashing light is over Vader’s body as he walks by (its minor, but yeah).

Second (again with vader) when he emerges for the fog with that wide shot of obiwan’s back and him approaching, the mask of him coming put (triangle shape I guess) would look a tad better with increased transparency \ feather. Just a thought

oh wow, good catch. I’ll try to add a wipe animation so that it gives the appearance of wiping off screen as vader walks off (gives the in front of the item look)

Funny, it’s actually an upside-down heart mask! LOL! Yeah, I mentioned that i noticed a few mistakes, And I’ve already patched up with some extra feather and color balance.

I’ll be honest, I can try, but it won’t look as good, unless I ask a friend to help me out with that or another fan-editor who is good with animating realistic vfx. If not, I can work around it with flipping the frame of the shot so that its the good side of his mask, or just cropping it so we can’t see the mask.

Currently restructuring the Obi-Wan and Vader duel and working with an animator friend to make Vader mask cracked open during shot that were originally placed before Obi wan defeats him in the OG duel.

UPDATE: Also transferred from Cap Cut to Premiere Pro and After Affects. It’s working MUCH better (since I transferred to a PC that my cousin gave me). Learning how to use it right now. Might take a while for me to get screen shots and clips until I’ve experimented some more. Maybe in the next month or so.

I am currently collaborating with a friend that does blender: big shout out to @SpaceCatPictures on youtube, who is gonna be a huge help for blender in this project. concept and set up stages for the reordering and contructing part is finished and he’s hoping to draft a render soon, so screen shots will come!!

Also the clip of the reconstruction duel fits pretty well, though I feel like you can move the line "that is why you will always lose, and compile it with other missing diploma the from your cuts…
