I have a question about the best way to capture laserdisc

1. what software to use when capturing ?

2 . Should I de-interlace the image or use filters after I capture

3. should I capture directly to DVD or use lossless codecs like Huffy

4. how to make an anamorphic image from 4:3 widescreen laserdisc ?

5. are their some good tutorials already out there , I cant find any that are that good .

my set up
Fly 2000 TV
Huffy Lossless Codec
PCM audio 4800hz stereo
Philips sa713 capture card
Pioneer CDV v2600 Laserdisc player mtd 1999

ive normally been capturing with huffy and then transfer it to dvd with Tmpgenc , but the results are not very good .
I get Dotcrawl and some blockiness sometimes . I also trim the black bars when I capture and let tmpgenc add them in later .
Iam just looking for a better way to do this . Thanks so much .

2 . Should I de-interlace the image or use filters after I capture If you're capping NTSC-film, then it's preferable to IVTC before encoding. Noise reduction filters are also useful.

Sure, use huffy if you have enough space, or MJPEG if you want better compression. I wouldn't recommend capture direct to MPEG-2.

Crop out the black bars, stretch vertically to your new resolution, and add (smaller) black bars back in if necessary.
