That tends to happen to old people in general. 😛
Valentine’s Day is just an excuse to have a holiday in February.
I actually almost forgot that it happened this year.
When’s something gonna happen?
I am not going to have spaghetti for dinner tonight.

Mamma Mia!
I have altered Lucas’ visions. Pray I don’t alter them any further.
Do you think I’ll remember to get some at the grocery store this weekend? I don’t.
Despite all my rage I am still not Nicholas Cage.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
It’s sad how all the old Hollywood stars are slowly dying off, one by one.

Prepunishment: the feeling of hearing a convoluted setup to what you are sure will be a tortured and unsatisfying pun.

OK, I have thought about this for some time, but was not shore where to bring it up.
I wanted to come up with a name to describe the preservation projects done here and by other people. But without sounding like… I had an eye patch and a parrot on my shoulder.
This is my latest idea.
F.P.D. Future Public Domain
or
F.P.D.P. Future Public Domain Preservation
Everything should technically become Public Domain some day in the Future, but it may not exist then.
My old posts used to be embarassing, but now they’re kind of hilarious. (The 2016-2017 ones, not the 2020-2021 ones)

FAPPs for short.
It may need some more work!

“Not my proudest FAPP.”
…
I’ll see myself out.
“The Anarchists are right in everything; in the negation of the existing order and in the assertion that, without Authority there could not be worse violence than that of Authority under existing conditions. They are mistaken only in thinking that anarchy can be instituted by a violent revolution… There can be only one permanent revolution — a moral one: the regeneration of the inner man. How is this revolution to take place? Nobody knows how it will take place in humanity, but every man feels it clearly in himself. And yet in our world everybody thinks of changing humanity, and nobody thinks of changing himself.”

The '70s really ended in 1982/3.

The '[]0s really ended in []2/3.
Fixed that for you, since it’s true across all decades.

Only sometimes. The '70s really started in 1967/8.

a bratwurst sounds good right about now.
I’m not really that much of a movie purist. I really should’ve thought my name out a bit more.
I used to think the Marvel supervillain Hate-Monger was over the top.
Then I remembered the Black Legion was a thing IRL.

I’m about to say something I personally find fascinating…
I think the chances are pretty high that at least 70% of all media ever created are obscure/forgotten. It’s all about publicity usually, only occasionally does a piece of media reach fame, and that’s usually because of some form of publicity. Take Klaatu for example. Their solid debut album was only well known because they were at one point literally thought to have been a Beatles reunion. Before that, they fell into obscurity not long after they released it (yet were still critically acclaimed).
I’ve also seen (and bought) some old movies only available on one compilation DVD, the same goes for some old songs as well, I’ve seen (and bought) some genuinely great (and very old) songs only available on one compilation album, some you can’t even listen/watch ANY part of the song/film at all without buying the CD/DVD first, making it a bit of a gamble some of the time.
Now, there are a lot of silent films available to the public, but there are estimates that 90% of all silent films are now gone. If the majority of all silent films ever made no longer exist yet there is still a behemoth of silent film that do still exist, that must mean that the vast majority of say, '80s movies are obscure.
On top of that, I’ve seen some films that are incredibly hard to find yet still exist, and very rarely some foreign films that aren’t even on IMDb at all, yet are on some foreign equivalent (such as Douban).
And I bet those super obscure songs, movies, and maybe even TV shows must be hiding some great surprises, such as one very obscure album I recently bought.

Makes sense. Frankly I don’t think anyone can keep up with media, even in the pre-internet age.
Indeed. To add on to this, I think the amount of media that doesn’t exist far outweighs the amount of media that does exist. This includes things that exist in dreams For example, songs and movies you view and listen to in your dreams that your minds makes up, or, say, everything on this site and this one as well.
For example, a song from a genre that doesn’t exist yet, or a movie from a time period that also doesn’t exist. A song/movie/artwork/whatever with a mixture of '80s and '40s aesthetics. The list goes on and on. Actors and musicians that don’t exist in real life but do exist in dreams or alternate universes.
Speaking of alternate universes, if the multiverse does exist and the universe truly is large enough, there would be an alternate version of Star Wars out there, with the only difference being that Leia is blonde, or a version of Back to the Future where Eric Stoltz did get the part, or even a silent film version of Back to the Future made in the 1920s with Harold Lloyd as Marty. Universes where humans never evolved and say, the major civilizations and intelligent life form would be a bird or reptile of some kind.
I’d say 99% of all possibilities (including every possible song, movie, or TV show) doesn’t exist yet. And a good chunk of that never will exist… in this part of the universe.

Now, I know pirating is a touchy subject, and I now own the OT on DVD (reference to a 2016 incident), and let me make myself clear that you should never pirate something that is readily available, but honestly, if you are pirating something that is incredibly hard to obtain, is long out of print, with any remaining copies being ungodly expensive, and worse case scenario completely impossible to purchase in your region, basically being in a “Keep Circulating the Tapes” situation, it’s okay to do it.
Like, if I more or less can’t legally purchase it, what am I supposed to do? Just not listen to/watch it?
Please note I am not condoning piracy, I’m just saying it’s not so bad in extreme cases.

There’s one thing you should take into consideration. Piracy is prevalent in Third World countries because the majority of people simply can’t afford to purchase original copies of movies, video games, etc., and have far more pressing concerns such as a cost of living that far more demanding than the average US or Western European citizen. They can’t afford it but still want their slice of entertainment, so piracy is the one viable solution that doesn’t involve any unnecesary expenses.
There’s also been a few articles from major websites where it has been noted that piracy has so far proven to be the most effective way to preserve and play old computer games. Case in point The Operative: No One Lives Forever, which is normally unattainable due to a variety of copyright reasons, and it’s only through pirated copies anyone can play that game.
Also were it not for piracy films like Nosferatu and Metropolis would have been lost forever, because someone had a bootleg print stashed away somewhere.
Please OT moderators, do not ban me for what I just posted. I think a conversation needs to be had about the subject.

10 November 2002. So Wikipedia’s been around that long. Huh.

What if people with sexual fetishes are reincarnations from people in an alternate universe where that sexual preference is the standard?
