Watched it this past June. Was sorely underwhelmed.
“The Anarchists are right in everything; in the negation of the existing order and in the assertion that, without Authority there could not be worse violence than that of Authority under existing conditions. They are mistaken only in thinking that anarchy can be instituted by a violent revolution… There can be only one permanent revolution — a moral one: the regeneration of the inner man. How is this revolution to take place? Nobody knows how it will take place in humanity, but every man feels it clearly in himself. And yet in our world everybody thinks of changing humanity, and nobody thinks of changing himself.”
― Leo Tolstoy
I watched it just after re-reading the book and I loved it.

“Vader! Hologram, now!”
Nope.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
I watched it like a year ago, and it was a lot easier to follow once I turned the subtitles on halfway through.
I don’t think I tried too hard to focus, because I knew I’d have to rewatch it when the second part comes out anyway.
This is the best movie I have seen in about 10 years. I was on the edge of my seat every second. The only word I can think to describe it is epic. Every single stone, light, landscape or set in Dune was meticulously placed & planned. Each scene was beautiful. It is a literal masterpiece. The actors were all good but I especially enjoyed Jason Momoa.
