I didn’t like the Gatsby remake. But then again the original has nothing on the novel, even if it has Redford.

I haven’t seen Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet in so long i forget it beyond Leo being in it.

I never finished Moulin Rouge and i like Kidman and McGregor. It was just so bizarre and the opening was too confusing.

Just watched Tron (1982) and it was total garbage.

You must really hate the movie if you posted the exact same line in the B*tching thread.

Nah, I posted it in both because it’s on-topic in both. I tend to post the same thing in multiple places to maximize the opportunities for a response. I do it a lot on Discord. It’s not an indicator of how strongly I feel about the subject. Sometimes posting the same thing in different places can elicit wildly different responses. Admittedly that’s not really the case here seeing as it’s two threads on the same forum, so perhaps that was a little pointless, but it fit both threads and I hate making decisions.

I would recommend Tron: Legacy if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s a very underrated movie and a lot better than the original in my opinion.

Saw Bullet Train recently. I thought it was fun and dumb and I enjoyed it.

Tarantino has gotten his head way too far up his own arse after Inglourious Basterds if you ask me.

The Hateful Eight was fine but the use of anamorphic 70mm feels like a waste considering about 95% of the movie takes place inside a cabin.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was a three hour long borefest, and I cannot for the life of me comprehend how can anyone enjoy it.

Halloween 6 for the first time.
I actually kinda liked it.

I’m not really that much of a movie purist. I really should’ve thought my name out a bit more.

Fantastic Voyage (1966)

A wildly ambitious film for the time that lives up to its title and thrusts you into a fascinating unseen world.

Moonfall. Plot made no sense. Conspiracy Theory Nonsense. Effects were nothing spectacular. I’ve liked some of Emmerich’s dumb movies but this one was wide off the mark, it wasn’t that entertaining either.

Halle Berry was likable as the astronaut/ acting NASA boss, but even she couldn’t save this piece of crap.

Dragonslayer (1981)

The bones of this movie are good. A simple violent fantasy story well-told. However, the soundtrack adds nothing at best and is downright distracting at worst. Someone needs to make a fanedit where the soundtrack is replaced with something more grand. Does that exist? It should.

Anyway, seeing young Emperor Palpatine was a fun treat, and the Tippet-animated dragon holds up in most shots even today.

Felt pretty much the same. I liked the conversation between DiCaprio’s character and the little girl, but that’s the only moment that inspired any feeling in me.

Plan 9 From Outer Space

Sadly, this one falls in my estimation every time I see it. The middle drags so much that it can hardly be enjoyed like the campy awful brilliance of the rest of the film. Ah well, at least the ending always makes me laugh.

You know what bad movie is thoroughly entertaining all the way through?

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

That’s one that should be on every holiday watch list, if only for the absolute bop of a theme song.

Me watching a movie in class: Wow, this is really fun! It’s a shame we’re only watching the first half hour or so. I should watch the rest some time!

Me watching the full movie five years later: Wow, the movie stopped being good at exactly the point we stopped watching! I can’t even be bothered finishing!

The movie is Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, for those of you wondering.

I love that movie. It’s a dose of pure 1990s zeitgeist.

Never understood this movie’s cult following. It’s just a bad movie. Not so-bad-it’s-good, not even Coleman Francis-level so-bad-it’s-horrible. Just average bad.

1984’s The Return of Godzilla.
Easily one of the best movies in the series.

Thor Love and Thunder. Enjoyable but not life changing. Certainly not the terrible movie some have said. Its not a great movie either. I also enjoyed Dr Strange 2.

Hocus Pocus is an amazing film

I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

Saw Hocus Pocus as well, and the sequel, but the original is way more enjoyable in my opinion.

‘X’ by Ti West. I’ve watched it twice now, and really enjoyed it. Can’t wait to check out Pearl soon, even if it’s going to be really different.

Minions 2. Absolutely awful. Haven’t liked a single one of these since Despicable me 2 or Minions 1.
