Also took the time to update A Storm of Swords (GoT OST) with improved video and audio quality. Dialogue is now a lot clearer, and overall audio crisper.

UPDATE:

The last four film additions all have their rough cuts done, and scoring and some visual effects work will begin very soon.

The ending to “my” Game of Thrones will hopefully be unique and fulfilling, and I think I have crafted something beautifully dark as the ending - that will leave viewers of the series/films satisfied and hopefully a little bit speechless.

I was supposed to give away some details, but I’ve decided to keep it under wraps so that disappointed GOT fans (like myself) can view the upcoming ending (which is primarily the last two films) with new, suspenseful eyes - and hopefully experience some new heartache, twists and turns that I feel the final seasons failed to deliver.

Could I make a small suggestion to one of your upcoming edits? During the scene of Daenerys burning down King’s Landing, I always thought the best reason for her to do this was that the bells DIDN’T ring.

I have seen one edit which took this approach but they left in shots of the bells ringing while removing the audio of them from the soundtrack. It would be a relatively easy edit to make and I think, would be more impactful and ultimately, justify her actions somewhat.

What are your thoughts?

In the context of the original structure, then yes - this would be an improvement. However, Dany won’t burn King’s landing in my edits.

I was thinking about following the original structure originally, but then decided against it. Perhaps I will make an alternative version down the line, in which the bells don’t ring - and the cataclysm for Danny’s actions is the result of one of the scorpions hitting her second to last dragon and killing it. I made a work print on this a while back, and received fair praise.

So, work will now continue on Film 7 and 8 (and workprints are already made for 7-10).

Film 7 is shaping along very nicely, and 7 and 8 - which I thought would be the two weaker installments - are turning out to be two of my favorite installments, feeling I’ve found the right balance between what’s good in the later story and removing or majorly altering what’s bad.

Also, with the news of a “Snow” show on the horizon, I MIGHT have to wait to release Film 10 until we have a first season of the show. It COULD completely alter the ending of the main show and therefore this series, if we somehow can salvage “lesser” parts.

Regarding SNOW - Is there a possibility you could go ahead with the darker ending for movie 10 (for us nihilist’s) and then once SNOW is released (a good year from now I’d say) produce an alternative cut of movie 10 so that show can follow on from it.

I think this would please on all fronts, however, I am fully aware of the work these edits take you. Just thought I’d mention my own preference early on and see what reaction you get from others about it.

I was thinking that, but then I realized; I’ve killed two major characters that definitely will show up in Snow, making it rather canon breaking and will probably render my film edits rather pointless for 90% that would want to use them for rewatch before Snow.
