I’m very much liking what I see…this looks like a solid Star Wars story presentation. Intriguing plot and outstanding visuals.

I’m looking forward to this, though I really hope some of those shots aren’t finished. The composition of several shots in that trailer makes the starships look ridiculously fake.

Absolutely phenomenal trailer, this has the potential to be the best Star Wars series imo.

It looks very good: at last a Disney Wars on tv production not looking cheap ! (I don’t count TCW/Bad Batch since they heavily derived from Lucas era standards)
A few nice stuff into it as well. My only worry is that it’s a prequel to a prequel I don’t like by more or less the same team.

So long 🙌

I just hate that the posters use Agency. Agency is one of my least favorite fonts, especially the numerals.

I agree it looks like their most cinema-like yet. Looking forward to it. Only nitpick; I’m sorry to see the prequel tie-ins. Disney has really gone back to the prequels of late. I understand it with Obi-Wan and Bad Batch and don’t mind it because it makes sense. As I’ve said before, for me to watch those two series, which I like, it’s the price of admission.

This however, has a bit of a feel that they just won’t step away from The Saga (genuflect), no matter what story they’re telling. Oh well. Fingers crossed it’s as good as it looks. At the very least; I’m always happy to see Genevieve O’Reilly. I think she’s fantastic. Strong in Rogue One and I have no reason to think she won’t be the same here.

I’m starting to wonder if the ships just look cheap on my computer screen. Does no one else notice that they seem badly edited into several shots?

Agree on every word.

They look really good to me. And certainly better than how crappy the ship effects looked in Kenobi. It does look much better watching the trailer on my TV through Disney+ than it does with the highly compressed version on youtube though. The only effects shot that looked really dodgy to me was the wide quarry shot. It looked more like a quick concept matte than a finished and realistic one.

It could be that YouTube’s at fault then. I’ll have to check it out on Disney+.

I think the only shot I found dodgy was that one of the Star Destroyer at the start. Considering how many noticeably bad special effects there were in Kenobi, that’s not bad going.

Based on what I saw in the trailer, the special effects are on par with Rogue One and Solo.

Yeh, that one wasn’t as good. Did you notice they cut the top of the tree off when compositing, then it suddenly appears when the stardestroyer has passed?

If you watch it on a better source, you can clearly see the top of the tree over the Star Destroyer. I’m not sure why the YouTube verson of this is so crappy, but the tree disappearing is an artifact of the poor quality of the video, not compositing.

As a fan of Rogue One I am stoked to see this!

A few quick, mostly negative, thoughts:

The trailer makes it look like another over the top melodramatic modern film, complete with stereotypical “epic” music.

Everyone uttering their lines with such seriousness and with “serious face” on.

Modern high contrast black, plus turquoise and orange colour palette. Doesn’t look like Star Wars.

The series looks like it is going to try and answer questions about the beginning of the rebellion that I would rather just leave to my imagination.

I do like the greyish/white Imperial uniforms. They are Imperial Intelligence/Security?

Would like a series that makes some of those who serve the Empire somewhat sympathetic. Like the PC from the old TIE Fighter videogame. You know, going into the Outer Rim and restoring order to systems ruled by gangs and torn by civil war since the Clone Wars.

It just seems like they keep going back to the same well. I really want new Star Wars, if we have to have it, to stop being in the same era as the Rey Saga. Go 500 years in the future, or in the past.

Ah well. Life goes on.

New clip.

This Twitter thread has footage of the first ten minutes of Andor, which was shown with Rogue One in cinemas: https://twitter.com/AbandonedLizard/status/1563313819207643137?s=20&t=gTg7b1CiVgUKG0AWjVtn-A

Can anyone clarify if it is the first ten minutes or just 10 minutes from the first episode?

Anyway, it looks good.

I take it that no one grabbed the video before it was taken down?

This series looks surprisingly good.

But wait, is this scene supposed to justify why Imperial security is always so crappy? Cassian Andor tells Baron Harkonnen that he just walked onto an Imperial naval base and stole some equipment, and was able to get away with it because he just “acts like he belongs there”. Now, while I’ve personally never tried, I would be pretty surprised if it was actually fairly easy to just put on a naval uniform, stroll on to a docked US aircraft carrier, and walk off with equipment. Maybe you could get away with like, stealing a sandwich from the cafeteria though.

You’d be surprised what a pair of coveralls and a ladder will do in lieu of a security clearance 😉

If Dale Gribble can sneak onto an army base and copy confidential documents, it’s not out of the room of possibility in a galaxy far, far away.

I have it.
