What a relief to know that John Kerry AND John Edwards will never have power as president and vice-president. I shudder to think what could have happened as a result of their arrogance and stupidity.

My stance on revising fan edits.

I doubt theirs would be as bad as Bushes arrogance and stupidity.

Yeah, their might have been a few truths spoken from the whitehouse for the first time in 4 years.

I shudder to think of the horrors and atrocities that now are an inevitability to come from the White House. What the hell's Bush gonna care, he no longer needs to ever worry about re-election. He can do whatever the hell he wants and likely get away with it. After all, he also has a Republican Congress in place to vote through all his resolutions.

To quote Dave Mustaine of Megadeth in his song "Symphony of Destruction" (a very a propos song right about now)

"You take a mortal man and put him in control.
Watch him become a God. Watch people's heads a roll."
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is 'Never get involved in a land war in Asia'."

LOL "I like you!"

I've just imagined GWB clicking on the red button, and laughing, and saying "again, again!", and clicking on it again, and the secret service people behind him rolling their eyes.

By the way, I've got a new signature. That Monty Python one was kinda dated and few people would recognize it, so for the next 4 years, this is my signature. After that, I might go back to Monty Python.

Ric, I doubt that message was really posted at a polling place. But feel free to mock our election process.
Author

It was. I sent it to myself over my e-mail, tomorrow @ work I'll send the URL. I've seen reports about similar cases over the internet and TV. People who were called and told that they could "vote by phone". People that replied to "phone surveys" about who would they vote for, and after said Kerry, they would reply "ok so don't forget to vote on november 3rd".

I await the URL...

Maybe this sign was put up by some sort of prankster? and not by the officals running the election?
Author

No, I mean, of course it was a prankster! But imagine, one or two votes could have been lost, and there were hunderds of these cases, I've just picked this one up because it was in Ohio.

Granted, but at least 3 quarters of his peeps are dead or in prison. The war isn't just about Binny, you know.

True but Binny is still out there and hs peeps are going to increase thanks to Bush being reelected. Bush is not going to stop the terrorist he's just going to make it worse.

And turning tail and run would make it better?

Wrong. The only thing terrorists understand is the barrel of a gun. They won't stop until we allah ackbar their blood all over the ground. You think they'll stop attacking Israel if the US stops supporting them? No. They'll just do more to Israel. They'll be more stories about young kids and grandmothers being killed in cafes, minding no business but their own. Terrorism may increase in the short run, but that is why we can't just run. We're commited now, and if we back out now, all Kessel will break loose.

and bin laden would be vindicated in calling us paper tigers.

that will just increase the hatred for America and create more terrorists. It will take more then guns to stop the terrorists.

One: I didn't say Kerry would have turned and run. I made a point of deleting his name from my post. It seems to me to be your suggestion.

Two: They already hate us more than anything else but their own women. What? Are you afraid of making the killers mad?

Three: Killing individual terror cells won't stop it. But that is why Bush went to Iraq. The way to end Terrorism is to depose those who support it, fund it, encourage it. Where have you been since 9/11/01?

Four: Does that really need a reply?

Invading Iraq increased the support for the terrorists. I agree we have to do more then just killing the terrorist cells. We've got to convince people not to become terrorists in the first place. We've got to look at the problems that created terrorism in the first place. We need to show the world that we are not the bullies they think we are. Bush won't do that.

And wait, I thought we invaded Iraq because they had WMDs. Which of course they didn't.

I'm just saying that our actions have not been well thought out and that Bush is leading us in the wrong direction.

I don't know what the solutions to our problems are, but I'm pretty sure Bush isn't going to solve them.

So I guess there will be four more years of this nonsensical political discution, eh?

Warbler, I can't seem to find the URL for my signature since it was linked through the michael moore website (hold it! don't scream yet!), and since it appears he have killed himself in a harakiri cerimony and his website has changed to a plain, black one, I can't get the link. BUT I have seen alegations of this in our TV news, people were interviewed and they claimed stuff like that - not only democrats but republicans also. THAT'S why I support the obligatory vote, in a pre-determined place, at a pre-determined date, all voting THE SAME WAY, with no electotal vote or anything like it. You people can ellect freaking Mussolini as far as I'm concearned, as long as it's fair and square.

In response to an early question:

I stood in line for about an hour 15 or so, but many of my friends waited over 2 (in Northern Virginia, just outside DC). Dropped a ballot for Bush on the electronic voting machine and it was super smooth; no quirks or difficulties.

I think I stood in line to vote all of about three minutes. Filled out my punchcard (so archaic!), made sure all the chad was gone, turned it in, got my "I Voted!" sticker, and left. In all, about five minutes out of my life. I really don't see why more people don't vote. It's always been one of the easiest and quickest things I've ever had to do. Then again, there is that girl who waited nine hours in Ohio to vote. That might discourage me, too. No, I'd still vote. I'd just take my iPod and a book.

Opinion: Anyone who cant figure out how to vote, or would fall for a notice like the one in Ric's sig, probably doesn't need to be voting to begin with.

I don't believe there is anything in the Constitution about needing to be smart in order to vote.

having to wait in line 9 hours in ridiculous. It is inexcusable that they could so unprepared. I could understand having to wait an hour because of larger than expected turn out, but 9 hours!!!?!!!! How the !#$%##$ does that happen!?!
