Toy Story 3: Especially Español (Released)

I had a silly idea while watching Toy Story 3 with my kids. Buzz Lightyear gets flipped into ‘Spanish mode’ for part of the movie, taking on a somewhat flamboyant Latin American voice and affect.

For the Latin American Spanish language dub, ‘Spanish mode’ Buzz was given a European Spanish voice to retain a relative contrast to his default, Latin American voice.

For the European Spanish dub (for Spain), ‘Spanish mode’ Buzz was given an even more exaggerated Spanish voice characteristic of the part of the country most associated with its stereotypes.

This presentation of the movie has three audio tracks:
By default, the film plays in English with the Castilian dub used for Buzz’s Spanish mode, featuring a Southern Spain vocal, labeled “Hyper-Spanish Buzz.”
The second track plays in English with the Latin American dub used for Buzz’s Spanish mode, featuring a European Spanish vocal, labeled “Medium Spanish Buzz.”
The third track is the unaltered English audio, featuring the original Latin American Spanish vocal, labeled “Regular Spanish Buzz.”

This presentation includes forced subtitles that will display by default for just the portions when Buzz is speaking in Spanish, as well as full English subtitles for the film.

My stance on revising fan edits.

It’s finished now. It’s the unaltered video track and a forced (soft-coded) subtitle track for Spanish Buzz lines. Also has an English subtitle track for the whole movie.

Audio track 1: Hyper-Spanish Buzz (Southern Spain)
Audio track 2: Medium Spanish Buzz (Spain)
Audio track 3: Regular Spanish Buzz (unaltered English track)
