Wow some really amazing reviews of this Nev, I was already pumped to see this to say the least but now I honestly can’t wait to get some free time this weekend and give this the viewing it deserves. 🙌Well done for all the hard work and thank you once again for sharing this.

I was wondering if the higher bitrate version is available yet. I’ve been trying to hold out for that, but my resolve is beginning to weaken.

Congratulations on completing your edit and thank you for this gift you’ve given to us all! I never thought I’d be this excited to see The Force Awakens again.

Nev, I can’t recall but is there is some kind of sound that goes along with the activating/deactivating of the tracking device? I also wonder if the light could blink rather than stay static.

May I ask for a link for this? Thank you in advance.

Also, is there any plex art or cover for The Force Awakens: Starlight?

NeverarGreat, super excited to see this is completed. Would you be interested in getting it listed over at FE.org on IFDB? I can do the review if you’d like 😃

I’ve only had a chance to check out the beginning so far, but I noticed some small visual glitches that I thought might be worth bringing up.

During the crawl, it looks like a grain layer has been applied to the entire frame, including the black letterbox bars. It noticeably lightens up the bars compared to the rest of the film, and you can see the grain pattern on them, which I found a bit distracting since they are not actually part of the filmed image. The grain also seems to get somewhat murdered by compression, even at the 30GB size. It’s more noticable if you artificially brighten the image. Here’s a comparison of your and Hal’s crawls with the brightness turned up in Photoshop to illustrate what I mean.

I also noticed compression artifacts in dark scenes seem oddly prevalent considering the filesize and I’m wondering if this has something to do with the color grading. (Again the images are artificially brightened here so it’s more obvious)

This is probably a case of the pot calling the kettle black since my edits tend to have some noticeable compression as well (especially in Episode II where I use second and third generation sources) but it seemed like you put a lot of work into this so I thought I would make sure you were aware.

I just realized, is the link for the V1 small and V1 full quality the same link? For the workprint link I have theres only one 5GB file, not two.

It’s two links. I kept the big file separate since space was an issue and I didn’t think it would work in high volume. However, since there don’t seem to be any issues so far, if you’re interested just leave a note on the original link PM and I’ll be sure to include the new one. Or PM me anew 😃

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
