The death of Pateesa (Jabba’s Rancor) prompted Harambe-style uproar within the crime underworld.

Mace Windu saw that tumblr post about how it’s classism to kill the goons but spare the main villain, and that’s why he was so intent on killing Palpatine.

I believe The Clone Wars went longer than three years, at least four and a half with the amount of events and character changes that occurred in that gap of time.

I see Anakin at the time of TCW (his animated counterpart) to be at least in his late 20s.

In my opinion Anakin must be 22 by ROTS’ end in order for his canonical death age of 45 to work.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

I still think Anakin dying in his 40’s is hilariously inconsistent with his portrayal in the OT.

Well in universe he only looks that sickly and old is because of two things, lack of sun and the senthetic flesh used.

Well yeah, that’s not an opinion. But someone changing his age in RotS is probably also okay with changing their canonical death age, especially when they say it makes it more consistent with the OT.

Note I don’t disagree that his age does change if you expand the run-time of the Clone Wars, just providing my thoughts. I guess it also is a bit of my own head canon though that whenever Anakin becomes Vader, no matter what universe, he is always 22, and unless he survives ROTJ he either is in his mid-late forties.

  • Why was Luke allowed to keep the last name “Skywalker” if he was supposed to be in hiding? Perhaps Anakin’s victory in the Boonta Eve podrace became something of a local legend, and so it became fairly common for human residents of Tatooine to adopt the name, meaning nobody would suspect Luke was actually a Skywalker.

My headcanon is that Luke didn’t know his real last name until Obi-Wan told him and the first time he used it was when he stated “I’m Luke Skywalker, I’m here to rescue you.”

That makes so much sense! I always found it strange Vader wouldn’t discover an child named Skywalker living with his relatives. This at least takes one part of the equation out. Still, nobody in the film mentions the name Skywalker until that line, including Obi-Wan, so this would’ve had to have happened offscreen, which I suppose it plausible.

That’s cool. I doubt he would have known too much about Anakin Skywlker as a Jedi Knight since that would imply he knew about the Kenobi who trained him, but Luke could very well have heard of Skywalker the legendary pilot, especially in connection with Tatooine. I’m imagining a scene where Obi-wan tells him his real name and Luke makes the connection, maybe even saying that he modeled his flying after people like Anakin. That would give him much more reason to devote his purpose in life to this previously unknown man.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I hope that the new Obi-Wan series can build up more of the mythology of how the Tatooine slave Anakin Skywalker became a renowned Jedi Knight. All that stuff Rey said about Luke Skywalker being a myth should have been applied to Anakin instead.

Lucas really should have followed through on Anakin’s premonition that he dreamed he was a Jedi and freed all of the slaves of Tatooine. His status as a slave child turned champion of oppressed makes him a fast legend amongst the galaxy. He later begins to sense his mother is suffering, previously thinking she was safe now being the wife of a moisture farmer.

Despite protests from Obi-Wan not to be distracted with such feelings, Anakin personally reaches out to find out what’s wrong. He learns that she was kidnapped by Tusken Raiders and dies before he can save her.

This fills Anakin, for the first time, with GREAT VENGEANCE AND FURIOUS ANGER as he lets the Sand People know his name is THE LORD when he LAYS HIS VENGEANCE UPON YE! He later suffers guilt when he realizes that had he not freed the slaves, perhaps his mother would not be dead now.

And THAT is your true path to The Dark Side.

Now if I could just easily justify how Leia leapt at the mention of “Ben Kenobi,” not the “General Obi-Wan Kenobi” she addressed in her message.

How about this: The reason why Rey in TFA is so good at everything is because R2-D2 wasn’t awake for the events of that movie, so he based his account on what Rey told him.

  • Despite not participating in the ground or space battles, Luke had the most pivotal role of anyone in the Battle of Endor, and not just as a personal fight to save his father’s soul. By keeping Vader occupied in the throne room, he prevented the Empire’s best pilot from hopping in a TIE and effortlessly gunning down Lando and Wedge before they had the chance to take out Death Star II. This also kept Palpatine’s attention on Luke, preventing the Emperor from using Battle Meditation to bolster the Empire’s space forces.

  • The Empire filing a false report to the Senate that the Tantive IV’s passengers were all killed means that Bail and Breha Organa probably spent their last moments believing their daughter was already dead.

  • Darth Vader’s mechanical arms technically didn’t make it impossible for him to use Force Lightning, just far more hazardous than it was worth. The power that becomes the lightning when it leaves the body is generated within, and once it escaped Vader’s stumps into his artificial limbs it would have at a minimum shorted out his prosthetics, and at most exploded them.

  • How did the Empire build Death Star II so much faster than the first one? Part of it was simply due to the original’s construction working out the kinks through trial and error, giving the second a much clearer roadmap. However, maybe there was another factor: maybe DSII’s superlaser wasn’t actually a planet-killer. We don’t see it destroy anything larger than a capital ship, which is impressive but obviously needs vastly less power. Besides, DSII’s primary purpose was as a trap, so all the Empire really needed was to give the Rebels the story of another Death Star. Once the Rebellion was finished off and Luke was either turned or killed, the Empire could have then taken as much time as they needed to build a true second Death Star.

Oh Death Star II makes perfect sense from an in-universe perspective. It’s just really lame from an out-of-universe one.
