I´m gonna repeat myself: gorgeous
Something that came to my mind while watching:
- is it possible to track the sith eyes throughout the rest of the fight until after she had hit her final strike and than is drawn out of her anger due to the crumbling ground WITHOUT being a massive workload for you?
This way it would be even more convincing she defeated Kylo.

I thought about that afterwards, and it might not be too terrible a workload since we can only clearly see her eyes in a few shots. On the other hand, it might be better to leave it as just that brief moment so that people don’t think ‘Oh well Rey is just evil forever now’, and a brief moment of power could be enough to both rattle Kylo and allow Rey to win without realizing she tapped so deeply into the Dark Side.

The updated Starkiller destruction looks great!
And I don’t think you should do more of the Sith eyes. I really don’t like the Sith eyes too much, personally. If you wanted to have it, I sorta wish it was a bit more subtle.

I love the Sith eyes idea in theory but unfortunately it doesn’t look like the Sith eyes of the prequels really. Just kinda looks like her eyes have a layer of red applied.
EDIT: Could just be the lighting. Imo, I would make them even more visible! Especially the yellows.

I would also like the eyes to be more subtle. I love the idea, but something with them seems slightly off.
I’m tempted to think it might look better if they only came up at the final moment where rey does her overhead swing towards kylo, but that may not be as good as what you have currently.

If it’s not to much extra work I vote have the Sith eyes remain during the fight to show she was using the dark side during the whole fight with Kylo.

I’ve tweaked the eye effect to be more in line with the prequel version - a slightly red iris rim with yellow interior. It’s also more subtle. With this more subtle version I’m not sure it would read well on anything further away than this extreme closeup, so it may be unnoticeable if placed on the entire fight.

I think this is great but other the original sith eyes, this is too subtle with all the other lighting effects from the lightsabers going on. If your trying to show her tapping into the dark side then let’s be bold about it!

I like this version better personally! I think making the eyes too obvious makes it feel a little too in-your-face.

I also like this version better.
I prefer something being a bit too subtle compared to a bit too much.
Before it looked almost like rey got like “God Anime eyes” and went super saiyan or something.
I still feel like something is slightly missing there, but I can’t put my finger on it, especially after looking at other sith eyes.
Overall though I like it.

Yeah some people are gonna like it more subtle than others. I will say this: this more subtle version looks more brown than red. So for that reason I’d prefer a more bold version, but who knows.

Video updated again. This one gives a bit more brightness to the yellow to prevent the eyes from looking brown, while also retaining the red rim. The whole effect is applied at 80% strength so it’s still more subtle than the first iteration. I’m pretty happy with it, personally.

This is all sorts of amazing!!
I really like the third version of the eyes. I think what sells it is the reddish iris rim more than the brightness of the eyes.

oh boy, didn’t expect another iteration: i do like the third version as well!
i can relate to the people opposing my thought. Another idea but don’t know if it is possible:
- the one time sith eyes may work great if we could get rid of the „i hold your arm and you mine“ before her final blow. This way the presence of her dark side/anger is felt more continued and the scene is more dynamic.

This is a good compromise…I think it looks great.
I still think it would look cool to have the Sith eyes during the whole fight scene to show Rey is in dark side the whole time. However, it appears this is an unpopular opinion by the majority here.

I’d be interested in seeing it as well but he needn’t put all of that work into it since it seems like the majority want something subtle.

My only worry is that if we do go overboard on it. It may look more fanedity. I’m still curious to see it though. Loving this newest version.
