The Book Of Boba Fett (live action series) - a general discussion thread - * SPOILERS * — Page 2

Still more characterisation in that brief conversation she has in Chapter 5 than anyone across all three prequels.

Oh please. Even Sio fucking Bibble is more memorable then her.

It’s all about the flashy looks, isn’t it? Obviously the quality of a character is assessed by their costume.

No, but it would help compensate for her non-existant personality.

Also, Ming-Na Wen is awesome and Fennec Shand is a great character.

Fennec Shand is a non-character. Remove her and her introductory episode (one of the worst episodes) and nothing changes. She’s so forgettable when she’s reintroduced in S2 and Din recognizes her I had to take a moment to figure out who she was. They could’ve at least given he a unique design or something.

Think Fennec Shand is boring all you want, but could you at least be respectful about it? I don’t think she’s worth getting into a heated argument over.

I bet there are a lot of new Boba Fett comics and novels on the way.

LOL, I didn’t pay any attention to this announcement to begin with because I thought it was literally just a book. 😛 Now I understand why there’s an active thread about it…

The integration of the animated characters in the Mandalorian has opened the door for more characters to come into the fray.

And with that said, I would love for Cad Bane to show up. I can’t think of a better antagonist for the show.

Cad Bane is a bastard who I just love to watch.

I would like for Cad Bane to be the one to have dented Boba’s helmet, like the unfinished animated clip, but let it seem like Boba and Cad have unfinished business.

I wish every one of the bounty hunters from the Executor bridge in ESB would appear and be fleshed out in this series as well. I’d say Bossk and Dengar are the safest bet because of their popularity and their ties to Boba.

I’d rather not see continuous universe shrinking. Maybe one or two of those bounty hunters, but we’ve already seen so much of them in the Clone Wars that I’d prefer that they were only brought into the show if it really makes sense for them to be there. Too many characters seem to show up in these shows just for the sake of being there, without it really contributing to the plot.

Since Filoni never got to finish the Fett vs Bane episode of TCW it’s not impossible that we’ll get to see it in a flashback. There’s already been some speculation that the “Book” in the title refers to different chapters in Fett’s life and that it will be mostly or partially about his past. Daniel Logan, who played young Boba in AOTC, could play a young Fett and with a bit of re-writing or maybe some subtle digital de-aging they could pull it off.

With the technology being used, i would say they would de-age Temuera like they did in Aquaman, i good thing about it is, they wouldn’t even need to do it much, he would probably have the helmet on for about 80% of the show.

Wasn’t there another guy even who played an intermediary age for clones in AOTC and ROTS.

There was, and he looked so much like Padme’s guard it was distracting.

Well, I loved all the characters. And Ming-na Wen is such a Star Wars fan. They are shooting Book of Boba Fett right now. She is playing an assassin and I think she did it very well.

I always thought it was an early shot at de-aging Temuera 😮

More Boba Fett content is something I’m all on board with, and Fennec, while not exactly prominent in Mando, is cool too. A Boba Fett side kick (love interest?) is something I’m excited for.

Agreed

I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

I’m pretty excited for Book of Boba having just finished Mandalorian season 2 yesterday. I was honestly pretty blown away by how good Season 2 was. Every aspect of the show oozes quality, I love its writing, its characters and the production values are insane. To me it didn’t really falter all the way through.

If the Book of Boba Fett show is about different periods of Fett’s history I think that would be an excellent idea. I love that the Mandalorian shows more of the seedy underbelly and criminal side of the Star Wars universe and tales of Fett’s past showing him as a bad guy contrasting with the current stuff in the Mandalorian where he has more of a moral centre would be very interesting.

Judging from the ending of Mando Season 2 it kind of looks like he’s taking over Jabba’s old criminal empire so does that mean he’ll use some of Jabba/Bib’s resources for a more noble purpose now that he’s a bit more moral? Really intrigued to find out.

Thanks to ALL members of the forum whose tireless preservation efforts have allowed me to watch the original films as I remember them.

‘The Book of Boba Fett’ is ‘The Mandalorian’ “Season 2.5”; Mando Season 3 to Start Filming Late 2021/Early 2022

“Collider has reported that The Book of Boba Fett has officially wrapped filming. The series is scheduled to debut this December on Disney Plus. It has been filmed on the same stage as The Mandalorian, and the first season is said to be a sort of stopgap between the second and third seasons of The Mandalorian, even referred to as “The Mandalorian Season 2.5″ by Collider‘s sources.”

The title, “The Book of Boba Fett” does make me think, and hope, that will series will have some flashbacks to different parts of Boba’s life. Maybe some snippets bridging the gap between ROTJ and Mandalorian, showing what Boba was up to all that time. It’s probably wishful thinking, but it’s also be cool to see flashbacks to Boba in his prime bounty hunting days as well.

Before Boba was revealed to be alive, I had imagined a film or series that I was calling “Boba Fett is Dead”, the premise being Boba trying to reevaluate his identity after the Sarlaac and the loss of his armor. But the series would also show flashbacks, contrasting Boba at his peak and at his present, lowest point.

I’m really open to anything with this show, but seeing Boba at different points in his life and career would be really fun. But if not, it will still be cool to see Boba does with his new criminal(?) empire he’s apparently setting up.

I’m personally over all the spin-offs.

The reason Boba initially had a huge fanbase was he had the quintessential ‘less is more’ aspect. We knew very little about him aside from he was skilled, respected by Vader, and he didn’t fear talking back to him either.

A canon backstory or expansion only waters him down for me.

Mentioned my hope for some flashbacks. Well, it turns out there will be.

“Well, we can’t say too much, but we’re going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back. Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him.”

This quote fro Temeura seems to indicate we’ll at least see what he was up to between ROTJ and Mando, if we don’t go back even further.

EDIT: Also, Daniel Logan replied to someone on Twitter in a way that makes me think we might see Logan play a young Boba as well. I don’t know if he would reply this way if he wasn’t appearing, since the show has apparently wrapped. Who knows, though?

That watering down happened in 1983 when he comedically flew into a big slug’s mouth. The only thing missing from the scene was Yakety Sax. I’m not familiar with the prequels, but I know he’s shown as a little kid. Honestly, WTF Lucas?

For me, his reappearance and seriousness 40 years later in The Mandalorian is a long awaited return to gravitas.

I’m sure we’ll see Boba escaping the Sarlacc pit, which makes me wonder - which version of it are they going to use? The one which is basically a hole or the one with a beak? (Not that anyone on here needs the special edition changes explained to them)

As we’ve seen/heard with the ‘Han shoots first’ scene in Solo, and the original Krayt dragon sound effect being used for The Marshal, writers and directors of new Star Wars projects tend to be more nostalgic for the original editions and remember the controversy that started in 1997. However, to avoid audience confusion, my guess is they’ll use the beaky SE sarlacc. Assuming we see a sarlacc at all, this should be our most clear pointer as to whether Disney/Lucasfilm are treating the special editions are the canon versions, although it won’t be definitive. It’s more likely that creators will use the special editions for reference when casual/younger fans would be confused and the OOT for reference otherwise. Still an interesting question.

Very likely that they will. The very episode he was confirmed in used Special Edition footage of the Death Star explosion with the Praxis rings.

Robot Chicken actually did a lot to make Fett cool again. And they explained his silly demise in ROTJ as having had way too much to drink on Jabba’s barge. 😉

They could just shoot the Sarlacc from a distance and Fett comes flying out and lands on the dunes. Doesn’t that silly beak they added only pop out when it’s eating?
