What's the consensus here guys? Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I'm guessing "BAD thing", but I don't know, I could be surprised as I was with "Clone Wars".

it could be AWESOME!!!! there are no restrictions financially as you usually see with TV shows... this could blow everyone out of the water, or it might swim all alone for itself, before drowning. im hoping the first!

Not sure at the moment. I am willing to give it a chance but I'm keeping my expectations at ground level.

I think it depends on the setting and who ends up being part of it.

Minimal Lucas interaction with the plot being post-E6, possibly basing the shows on books we've already read, I may leap for joy.

But, if we see 100% effort from Lucas, telling stories that conflict with what is commonly held as canon, I will watch, but I will not be happy.

I would be all for a Boba Fett series that involves his travels between the two films. This would bring about cameos by characters such as Chewbacca, maybe the droids, other bounty hunters and most importantly Darth Vader. Hell, even a series about Vader and the Empire's grasp on the universe would be amazing. If you think about it Luke, Leia, Han, Obi-Wan, Yoda, none of those would be needed for the series as they are all pretty much 'in hiding' before we get to Star Wars. So we could see an Imperial series.

However, I warn you to curb your fanboy enthusiasm. The EU may be viewed by people outside the STAR WARS fan groups as campy. I think George should sit down, give them a 3 year outline of where the character they base the show on should go and what they can or can not do with it, and then let them write it.

The Jedi are all but extinct.......

I don't think it's gonna be the Holiday Special, either. If the early scripts showed HS indications, I would hope somebody there would slap him upside the head. I just don't know that it will wind up being "great" like some people think it will.

It has the potential personally, I think it should be set Pre Prequel Era, Like around the time of Darth Bane and Exar Kun.

Bad, BAD thing. I think this is the end of the line for me and SW. After RotS I really think it should just be left alone. Again, it's been a great 30 years, but it's time to move on and do something new.

Personally I like the idea of a series showing the 20 year period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. There are so many ideas for such a series. I love this idea.

Just speculation but I think its what is most likely. A series after Return of the Jedi would require a reuion of the original cast. So I believe a Pre A New Hope After Revenge of the Sith is the best idea.
