If we’re throwing in things to consider that the community might be able to help with (ideas that have been thrown around before here and elsewhere)…
- Add a line for Leia after saying “no” to Rey going on the mission. Something like “You’re not ready.” Scene feels a little awkward.
- Add Finn saying to Jannah “We all have to fight” so it seems like he had some influence on her decision to join the resistance (paying forward his TLJ arc).
- Change Luke’s line to “Leia sensed the BIRTH of her son,” which seems more fitting.
- Give Rey a different outfit in the final scene, either all black or grey, or partially black or grey.
- Recolor the saber burial cloth to be black and add a hole so it appears to be Ben’s sweater, so she’s burying things that belong to all three ghosts.
100% down with these additions, especially the last two.
Same here, those would be nice additions if doable.
Also … my comment on the whole Finn “has something to say” conversation … No. You know it was badly executed when the Director of the movie had to tweet the explanation on it. Regardless of the reasoning of it, or what it represents, it’s execution is poor and is way muddled up. It would have been better, if JJ wanted the whole “I need to tell you something” concept on Finn’s part to Rey would have been better if he kept getting interrupted.
However, it was portrayed as: We are all about to die and my last dying breath is: I think I am force sensitive! And when they are alive, he is still “ashamed” or “unwilling” to talk to her about it. Terrible.
THat’s like you and your friends are about to die from a plane crash and before you hit the mountain someone says “I’ve always wanted to tell you JOHN DOE that I think I can bowl a perfect game!”
The issue is it was more portrayed like “I have feelings for you and am ashamed to tell you” then anything else. So again, it’s about the execution of it that makes it bad. If it was handled differently, and more clearly, then yeah, it would have been fine.
You know when something isn’t handed correctly or isn’t clear to the audience is when you have to tweet about it.
