That reminds me - since we have different visions for Rey and Kylo, did we end up removing that one shot of Kylo twitching on Mustafar? I feel like that might be able to be repurposed for this idea here.

I think this shot only works if we remove the few seconds before you have it placed, i think there is room to add a few seconds to the scene to make him turn and look, but what… i wonder. The other option is to simply extended the sound Hal has placed when we see the Wayfinder.

I agree that it might not make it feel less rushed, but I completely disagree that it would do the exact opposite. It’s just kinda there.
Honestly I just like the shot because it’s referenced in the novelization. Basically it’s described that he was in such a fit of rage in the fight that he had to shake himself out of it.

I once tried adding audible Sith whispers at that precise moment. This would also create an instant relation between the whispers and the wayfinder for the audience, considering they later guide Rey to the dagger and the Emperor’s wayfinder.
Nah, I don’t think adding more overt whispers adds to the moment, nor the super short extra shot.
And I don’t see a good reason to open up a can of worms by destroying the Taintive.

I definitely don’t think Kylo’s twitch works. But I do like the idea of starting the Sith Whispers earlier. If they just start when he opens the doohickey, it feels like “Oh, I guess the pyramid thing is making noise now.” If it starts earlier, it’s like the Dark Side is calling out to Kylo (similarly to how the whispers will “call out” to Rey on Endor). Creates a nice little connection.

When Luke says ‘because your a palpatine’ its like the word ‘your’ overlaps with the word ‘because’. Other than that, its perfect.
A small side note - i was watching your v1 edit a while ago, at 01:07 - Rey say’s ‘‘we have to get to that wreck’’ in regards to the death star, as she says wreck her audio cuts abruptly in the middle of the word so it sounds like ‘wr__k’'.

ah i see, im watching it with headphones so i probably picked up on it because of that, but back on topic, i think the sequence turned out wonderful, the addition of the new line fits. I hate when rey say’s ‘i destroyed ren’s ship’ because it’ adr’ed terribly (the worst in the whole movie) & it treats us like dumbies, i like Luke’s reply and think if the line about the ship was removed it would feel much better, but that’s a scripting issue rather than a visual issue

There’s a visual glitch I noticed on the top and bottom on the first establishing shot.
Personally I prefer Neverar’s original regrade for the sunrise, feels more natural.

Same here. I understand wanting Leia represented, but I fail to understand how the color of the sky could possibly convey such a thing for the average person. Unless you’re one of those literature teachers who try to find meaning in every single possible detail in the story. Haha.

Hal, The second island transition sound is very jumbled by the fade-out in my headphones. You may wanna extend the first part and fade-out just before the note comes in after Rey says “I won’t let it happen”? The added Luke line also sounds very bass-heavy compared to the next line. Did you use the new EQ audio by ThisIsCreation?
