Thank you. And if they were to release any deleted scenes in good quality that actually seem to be an improvement upon the film, I’d totally do an updated version. Not holding my breath, though.
Actually, I’m going to look up the film’s screenplay to see if any deleted scenes are featured in them. I’d love to know how they played out too when they shot them.
EDIT: I’ve looked, and I can’t find it online. One day, maybe. At least the comic and novelization detailed some of those scenes.

97% sure deleted scenes will never be released. They have other things they could release that would make people even happier, yet they’re not doing it… so I just feel like it’ll never happen.

It’s just a shame that all of that work went into the Mustafar deleted sequence. The amount of puppetry involved in the Eye of Webish Bog…
Totally agree. But their business model is focused elsewhere, especially with COVID-19.
Anything is possible. Rogue One and The Rise of Skywalker could see deleted scenes released, it just all depends on what Lucasfilm decides to do for the foreseeable future. It could happen once the criticism over the Sequel Trilogy has died down, so let’s hope The Mandalorian can get those folks to calm down. Fingers crossed for the deleted scenes, still.
I made a whole video on unreleased deleted scenes for all the films.

It still would be spending money to release things that people “already have”.
People already purchased or subscribed to Disney+. That’s where the focus is. There’s no upside to releasing deleted scenes for a maligned film, it’s either “nothing can save this film” or “the film is worse for not including these scenes!”.
There isn’t a big petition or movement like with Justice League, and even then: it would be far more lucrative to release the 4K OT Theatrical Cuts, which also has more people begging for than these deleted scenes.

I don’t really know. Avengers: Endgame had some deleted scenes released in the Extras section on Disney+ that were not featured on its Blu-ray release. Anything is possible.

That was a celebrated film, which makes a huge difference. The worse a film is received, or the more BTS drama, the less likely deleted scenes are to be released.
Also, Star Wars, as a franchise, is able to repurpose and retcon stories across all media very easily. It’s far more likely that deleted plot elements crop up in other media.
It’s less work, more money, and less critical blowback for them to release the OT Theatrical Cuts, or to not release the deleted scenes. The amount of fans that would love the deleted scenes is just too small a number.

I suppose so, though the Prequels got a lot of really good deleted scenes released on DVD and Blu-ray, despite how much hardcore fans tore them apart too. You are correct about the reception and behind the scenes stories affecting that happening, but I still think it could happen, with it being Star Wars and all. More deleted scenes were released for the Prequels on the Blu-ray release than the original DVD releases, but it could be due to Lucasfilm being run by George Lucas at the time, and not Kathleen Kennedy. As for the dreaded OOT Trilogy release, I still think they’re contractionally obligated by George to not release them.

It’s less to do with Kathleen Kennedy and more with the markets. Kennedy is not some evil boogeyman that hates Star Wars, let’s not entertain the sexist bullshit against her.
Disney just shifted their entire market strategy to focus on Disney+. When physical media was still the focus for post-theatrical release, it made sense to entice people into re-purchasing, so they added content. Disney is famous for artificially controlling supply and demand with physical media, placing films in the “vault” and re-releasing them with bonus content years later.
Such a strategy doesn’t make sense anymore, people are either subscribed or not. Deleted scenes won’t be enough to get new subscribers, and would only increase piracy (which decreases subscribers). Alternative cuts and new narrative content does draw people in.
That’s why Justice League has a ton of money being spent on it: they’re treating it like a new Max Original series. Compare this to Dawn of Justice, where the alternative cut already existed and could entice new purchases, or Suicide Squad, which has a cut that’s unfinished similar to Justice League but without the ability to draw new subscribers into HBO Max.
With Star Wars, releasing the Theatrical Original Trilogy in 4K would draw in new subscribers, just as new original content like The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and other shows are. Deleted scenes aren’t quite enough, and recutting The Rise of Skywalker would be a much larger task and would require Abrams’ collaboration. The cost-to-subscribers ratio wouldn’t be profitable enough for them, even if they could get Abrams to admit his fuckup and come try to fix it.
Honestly I would be willing to try and take up the task if I could figure out what effect or plug-in he used for the saber effect. I would probably have to start from scratch and just find a similar effect.
Almost certain its just the saber plug-in thats free for AE,

I think the Eye of Webbish Bog’s appearance and the subtle referencing to Exogol in the new Vader comic issue may give way to Disney releasing the deleted Mustafar Sequence at the very least.
Peace is a lie
There is only passion…
There wouldn’t be anyone more pleased than me, I just severely doubt it. When it wasn’t on the 4K Saga Collection set, I think that was the end of it for the foreseeable future.
There’d be the real possibility that any deleted material would make us say, “that’s really cool but I see why it was cut” or “this doesn’t actually improve the film when edited back in.”
I finally saw this version…and i love it!
Things that i liked:
Things that i don’t liked:
In conclusion, now the movie is watchable, i think it isn’t the movie that we deserve, but it’s ok. Better than that official.
Hello, would love a link to this please. I enjoy your other edits so maybe this will help me not hate TRoS as much.
Thank you to everyone involved for your work on this edit!

This looks so much better than the film that was released, would it be possible to get a link? Thanks for all the hard work for all parties involved!
It would be fantastic if we could get this edit to win “Favorite Edit of the Month” over at fanedit.org.

Yeah! I might have to go ahead and list it without all the cover artwork. It probably belongs in November anyway.
I’ll have to keep this in mind for a potential V2. It’a a change done by the ‘Fixing Disney Star Wars’ guys. Whatever you think of them, I thought this was an interesting little tweak.
Zorri says that the bounty on Rey may cover them.
Rey knocks them all down and draws her saber on Zorri and she points a gun at her.
Rey: “We could really use your help. Please.”
Zorri: “[Not that you care, but I think you’re] okay.”
Rey: [“I care.”] Offers her a hand

This tweak seems to reduce the ‘fan fiction character’ phenomena in which an adversary seems to make an odd statement by complimenting Rey.
Eh. I don’t mind the scene the way it is. It felt more like a “game recognizes game” situation
After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.
