Dinner Time - post a meal for each Star Wars movie...

Post a meal for each Star Wars movie. Maybe include an entree, a side or two, a drink and desert. Can be related in whatever ways you like. Maybe puns, similarity to food or other things within the movie, mood match, subjective stuff, personal associations, etc.

Grab a Bib Fortuna and dig in.

My stance on revising fan edits.

I - Plain hot dogs with a Pepsi. Long, dull, eaten at the race track.
II - Southern pear salad. Unevenly cut, and with too much cheese.
III - Burnt steak with an undercooked vegetable. Supposedly it looks nicer in the recipe book.
IV - An American classic cheeseburger. The “Chef’s Special” comes with escargo, which means the chef personally adds a slug partway through the meal.
V - A loaded baked potato, with ice cream for dessert.
VI - A venison cheeseburger.
VII - A third burger? Maybe you should go with a kabob instead.
VIII - Jelly Belly “Beanboozled” jelly beans. Some people get a flavorfully good experience and appreciate the surprise, others walk away with a bad taste in their mouths and a feeling of betrayal.
IX - A fourth burger, served well before it was done, chopped into multiple pieces.

The Phantom Menace: A power greens smoothie, the nourishment is in there somewhere.
Attack of the Clones: A power greens smoothie… again
Revenge of the Sith: A power greens smoothie, now with fruit.
Solo: Lettuce
Rogue One: A homemade veggie burger
A New Hope: An actually good burger
The Empire Strikes Back: A power greens smoothie, it won’t go away.
Return of the Jedi: A steak burger with a great bun.
The Force Awakens: The same burger as before but somethings off.
The Last Jedi: The rest of the ground beef with whatever can be found in the kitchen.
The Rise of Skywalker: A power greens smoothie.

After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.

Sugary Saturday Morning cartoon cereal is definitely a better pick for RotJ, now that you mention.

TPM - Slow-cooked ribs that have a nice sauce, but are dry and have a terrible texture

AOTC - Rendered bear steak fat that just leaves a terrible mark

ROTS - Haggis, crammed full of stuff that should have been in the first two meals

TCW - A well-crafted frittata that got better as your ate more of it

Solo - A lasagna that tastes fantastic, but is slightly uncanny due to the odd proportions of ingredients

Rebels - Shredded wheat, with a few good bits poking out of the sugar drench

R1 - One of those IV drips that anorexic people have to avoid eating

SW - Your basic burger with all the trimmings and fries, classic and satisfying

ESB - a medium-rare skirt steak with roasted sweet potatoes and bell peppers

ROTJ - a turkey burger that’s still well-made, but just can’t get to the previous highs

TFA - reheated pizza that’s a bit elderly but still passable

TLJ - an excellent fried rice dish that makes good use of leftovers and does some experimental things with a few ingredients, not for everyone

TROS - raw chicken that’s well past its expiration date, alongside moldy pop tarts

Star Wars:

The Empire Strikes Back:

Return of the Jedi:

Rogue One:

Solo:

The Force Awakens:

Those are the films I like the most. The rest I don’t care enough to bother thinking about what food fits best. And while I love The Mandalorian and thoroughly enjoy Rebels, I just didn’t feel like diving into tv and other media. Just stuck with theatrical films for this one.

This isn’t what I had in mind for the thread but I like it.

What would you actually want to serve or eat during each movie, to say nothing of how you actually feel about the movies themselves? Duck or seafood during TPM, chicken during TLJ?

I would totally serve each of the items I chose with each movie because the feeling each food choice gives me when I eat it compliments the feeling I have when I watch the film.

For example, I chose fish tacos to pair with Solo because each is a modern update to an old favorite that I wasn’t sure I’d care for. But once I tried them I thoroughly enjoyed them and enjoy revisiting them periodically.

I actually gave this real answer for TPM: hot dogs and Pepsi. I was playing baseball during the summer TPM came out and the movie was marketed through Pepsi cans, so I actually think of those things when I think of TPM. It’s nostalgic for me.

The joke at TPM’s expense was just a bonus.

Mmmm… TPM marketing nostalgia. Makes me feel cozy.

I wouldn’t mind stumbling onto a copy of the ‘Episode I Scrapbook’ sometime. I like images of the pre-coverings C-3PO. That was the first SW figure I ever got.

TPM - Pizza with olives you’re gonna remove but quality pizza nonetheless

AotC - Some weird foreign dish that isn’t as good as you expected and you kinda don’t wanna finish

RotS - A damn good steak (if a touch too big) with a salad you aren’t gonna eat

ANH - Gourmet French hamburger (trust me, the French make the best burgers)

ESB - Orange duck - I don’t like it but apparently others really do - it’s not bad, though

RotJ - Serviceable but uninteresting soup with a pretty good ice cream sundae for dessert

TFA - American fast food hamburger

TLJ - Fancy wine and dine that’s a bit of an acquired taste

TRoS - Mixed platter of reheated leftovers with barbecue sauce thrown on top

Me and the lady made dinner tonight. Not pictured: A big sack of peas. She mixed the peas into the pasta, I ate them separately.

We didn’t watch Star Wars, though. We watched Fargo.
