Yeah, except Qui-Gon’s, since he’s rebellious. It’s not so much about making Luke’s saber unique as it is being more aesthetically pleasing and thematically appropriate.

If i were to go that way, i would make his white rather than green. The rebirth as a force ghost and purity of white seem appropriate with him. Really though, i like his green for the reasons listed above though, despite his rebelliousness. The implication is simple, blue- apprentice, green- master, red- sith. To me the Eu got convoluted with how and why sabers are colored the way they are.

Up until the finale of AOTC, green sabres for masters and white sabres for knights/apprentices makes sense. In fact, at the time I was certain Lucas WAS doing that…but then Obi-Wan never used green. Of course, part of that was because white vs white made for a more interesting ROTS.

So it may have just been a happy coincidence up until the end of AOTC.

I think part of it was just that he was boxed in by ANH and had to have obiwan’s saber match. I personally like the battle in ROTS between Anakin and Obi as blue and green sabers and have never been a fan of both having blue. Plus it makes it hard to tell whos swing is whos in some scenes.

Agreed. Heck, adding a line about how Qui-Gon is not really a part of the order anymore would help to add gravitas to his green blade. Since Luke is a Jedi outside of the order as well, it makes sense that he would carry on Qui-Gon’s legacy.

I also like some of the knights/masters division. I’d prefer if the whole order used blue, except for the masters of the council using purple. It highlights how “royal” they are, in comparison to the other members. Obi-Wan would keep his blue blade, out of choice/to thematically separate himself from the council’s issues.

I toyed with the council having white sabers. Seemed like their position would warrant the difference. I imagine any one who knows of the jedi recognize the threat by the color of the saber. Like blue? Meh, ill try my luck. White? Oh hell no. Red, Im f@cked

In Revenge of The Sith when Anakin is playing on that Nintendo wii u looking thing, can we make it look like he is checking on Ashoka in the siege of Mandalore?

I feel like it’s stronger if he’s actively trying to think of something casual and relaxing, like watching space anime. It gives the impression he’s trying to relax but can’t because he’s in such a horrible situation.

This scene? Neither make sense in this moment imo and the screen is hardly viewable (Its out of focus, small, and at odd angle. Even if you added something in, youd have to blur it, make it small and match angle resulting in a likewise barely viewable screen). Anakin is having a vision of Padame and sensing that Obiwan had been there. Imo the only thing this scene needs, is glimpses of Padame and Obiwan together mixed in his vision to give impression of infidelity. Especially when combined with scenes of her birthing. This adds to the final moments of the movie when Padame shows up with Obiwan. Leaving Anakin feeling betrayed and feeding into his jealousy and pov on the situation. Which backs up Old Ben telling Luke that “Many of the truths we cling to greatly depend on our point of view”.

I’m not sure how I feel about video games and other electronic entertainment existing in the Star Wars universe.

I agree. It’s cool fanservice but doesn’t really make sense in the context of the movie.

On a separate note, i think Palpatine should be grey/evil looking at all times he is cloaked as Sidious leading up to his moment with Mace in ROTS.

One- I dont like the idea of his lightening hurting him, and him being that dumb (Despite being so smart elsewise). So if Luke never threw his lightsaber down, what would Palps have done? Just zapped him anyways and got fried himself like an idiot again. Then, to add more stupidity to it all, he dies by this sammmme thing, in ROS. Like, this is the dumbestttt thing ever, beyond worse than the Death star flaws. I don’t like it and think that should not be what is happening in the scene with Anakin, Mace, and Palpatine.

Two- I think Palpatines natural form is that of an evil skeevy old grand wizard of the sith, and that the image he puts forth to the Senate and Anakin are a lie. That in the moment Mace is zapping him with his own lightening, Palpatine is merely using it as an opportunity to reveal his true form while using it to make it seem that Mace had grievously injured him. All of which were part of Sidious’s grand plan to manipulate the Senate, Jedi, and Anakin into his trap. Like in Primal Fear, Aaron was never real, there was only ever Roy.

Other than the video game chess Chewie plays?

And the electronic entertainment played on screens at Coruscant bars?

And Padme’s teenage bedroom holo-portraits?

Or do you prefer your SW entertainment to be Luke still playing with his plastic rocketships at 19 going pew pew while his friends play Water-pool at Toshi Station?

It’s fine, it’s basically a normal board game but with hologram pieces.

And the electronic entertainment played on screens at Coruscant bars?

Not a fan, although that’s just something in the background that isn’t delved into much. It could be something different in nature to watching sports on TV, although I’m pretty sure the intention was watching sports on TV.

And Padme’s teenage bedroom holo-portraits?

Not a fan, but I think that’s only in a deleted scene anyway.

Yeah

I think it would be easy to edit the crawl to say they’re just Jedi bros, and then edit out every time their master/apprentice relationship comes up in the rest of the trilogy.

Has somebody ever used bails declaration of rebellion speech from the force unleashed in a fan edit of ROTS?
Could go well with the “stirring in the senate” scene.

Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon shouldn’t be master/student as this contradicts what was stated in TESB but as friends or as two Jedi who work together with Yoda being the one who instructed Obi-Wan or both of them.

I’d rather change the Originals to not contradict the Prequels if the alternative is going through those mental gymnastics.

Agreed. A lot of people tend towards OT Purism, but I think it makes more sense (and less effort) to support whatever piece of conflicting canon has the most evidence in its favour. Qui-Gon is Obi-Wan’s master in TPM, and it’s mentioned in the other PT films and the Clone Wars. Best to roll with it, I reckon.

Didn’t you already fix it in your own edit? You changed the line to have Ben refer to Yoda as “a Jedi master who instructed me”, not “the Jedi master who instructed me.”

Literally my thoughts lol Atoc already explains that Yoda trains all the younglings. On top of that, Anakin is seen taking lessons from Yoda in ROTS. Plus Mace, and Obiwan consult Yoda a lot.

Plus, the line in the OT is also coming from the guy that said Vader betrayed and murdered Anakin. He’s old, he plays fast and loose with history since he can’t remember most of it. “Droid? I dont seem to remember owning any droids.”… Pretty sure i would recognize my friends droid when i can remember what car they had or phone.

He literally lets Luke call his sister pretty and lust after her enough to want to go save her, while never giving Luke the more important info to get Luke to go save her. Like, you know, shes really Lukes sister. Reason enough to go save her. Like, hey kid, your dads a psycho and is about to kill your long lost sister. This is wayyyy more important than your uncles farm.

If you were to snip anything, i think its easier to nip the OT than the prequels. Leia knowing her mother, snip. Leia kissing her brother twice, snip. Luke competing with Han in ANH for Leia, snip. Han competing with Luke in ROTJ, snip Obiwan training with Yoda, snip.

I mostly agree, except for this being the motive for Luke breaking and attacking Vader to the point of almost losing himself. If there was a way to change Vaders dialogue in that scene then it would all work. Something else that Vader could say or use against Luke to provoke him. Maybe a threat towards his friends, lamenting their soon to be demise, or capture and torture then death. Something. Any good Vader impersonators on here?
