Speaking of the ending, has it been decided on how Ben will appear at the end? I really don’t like having just a still image of Adam Driver’s head photoshopped onto Luke from A New Hope. I actually think it would be nice to take the clip posted several pages back of him nodding to Rey, but place his head on someone in Jedi robes.

Unfortunately the music used comes in right on the heel of a bombastic conclusion to the Resistance theme, so it’s a shame it can’t be a bit more teasing and gradual as it comes in like the original scene’s music.

It’s still synced to the original, so it’s be easy to ditch in favor of the original.

That’s a beautiful ending. Really nice scene. Are you moving Leia’s death scene at all?

No, I’m not planning to shift Leia’s death.

Hopefully Ben’s ghost can be usable and good, but of course we’ll see.

And that’s not a bad musical arrangement either.

I figure that can be done at the end, but I’d welcome a set of LUTs if any are made.

I don’t think it’s doable based on how much of a close up shot, as well as his face being slightly obscured by Rey’s. I think using this as inspiration would help out.

Maybe, but again, I don’t like the idea of using a still image, as it looks lifeless.

Glad you posted that, I hadn’t known about or remembered that. Yeah, skenera is awesome!

With moving the lines to the first Palpatine scene, it’s just a little unfortunate that he mouths an ‘L’ sound while saying “me.” I don’t know whether this would be easy, but if someone wanted to digitally close his mouth there’s plenty of room in the shot to have the line conclude before we see his face.

It’s not strictly necessary but, goodness, I guess it’s worth mentioning given what all you’ve been able to muster so far!

Two more things:

Burning homestead is the best musical choice for the added ghosts, as heard in most of jonh’s mockups, so that’s what I’m gonna go with.

And, would anyone like to add a subtle double rainbow to the first real shot of the Lars homestead? It was an idea from a while back that just felt right to the group and I supposed could be seen as a way to touch on Leia’s childhood home also, since there is a double rainbow ribbon thing as the ship approaches the city on Alderaan in ROTS.

I’m probably in the great minority here but I really like that’s it’s just Luke and Leia staring, kinda like they are the twin suns of tatooine, It just feels right. but I also want Ben incorporated, so maybe a cool idea would be to keep luke and leia alone, and then at some point either when she smiles or some point in the middle of the sunset scene maybe a close up of his force ghost appearing and smiling as the falcon takes off, the last couple of shots would be Luke and Leia, then Rey, the sunset, Ben appearing and smiling in a close up, alone in the frame as he looks into his fathers ship taking of for the last time. And then the falcon take off.

Yeah, I will not be altering his death in my edit, though I appreciate the view that he should have lived.

If someone finds a convincing, natural way to pull it off, which I’m not convinced is really possible, maybe it could be included in the Rey Nobody version. But would we have to assume he left Exegol separate from Rey, avoided the resistance celebration and met up with her on Tatooine later?

Of it he is at the celebration are we to assume everyone was like “hey even Supreme Leader Kylo Ren is here, woo!”?

Ben dying makes Leia’s storyline even worse in TRoS. Cut his death.

I felt exactly the same, hence why that is now part of my main storyline. I felt a lot of people forgot about Leias vision.
