It is pretty difficult to get the motion tracking working on the elder head, but I’m commited to making it work!

If you can pull it off I’ll take a bullet for you.

Could turn Coruscant into another moon of Endor, or a neighbouring planet.

I know why you would want that (for RotJ) but it would destroy my suspension of disbelief to think that right next door to the galactic capital is an untouched forest world inhabited by primitive natives.

It breaks my suspension of disbelief that sophisticated robots and strong AI exist in this universe and yet most factions still use organic soldiers and manned fighters in combat.

Fair point.

Why? And who says Endor is “untouched”? We don’t see much of it.
Primitive tribes living near advanced civilization happens on our own planet, why not between moons?

That’s what it was in the first draft of RotJ. The sanctuary moon of Had Abbadon that was forbidden to build or settle on.

Hi, Snooker! I know you’re probably busy, but you’re one of the only fan editors I know who could possibly make this idea I had come to fruition:
A lot of people have been searching for ways to extend the intro on Mustafar. While there have been a lot of ideas for landscape shots, I haven’t heard anyone suggest a way to actually show Kylo Ren arriving to battle. But then I remembered - the Force Awakens’ famous trailer shot of Kylo igniting his lightsaber never actually made it into the movie, so it could be used here without clearly being reused footage.
All it shows us is that he’s in the forest and that he’s preparing for battle, and with some regrading and light adjustment I was able to make it (almost) match the rest of the shots in the scene. The problem is, I wanted to give the fight more of a sense of continuity, and the rest of the scene, though it still takes place in what looks enough like the same forest, shows blaster fire and stormtroopers in the background.
So what I’m asking is if you could take that Crossguard-Lightsaber reveal shot from TFA’s first teaser trailer, and add some mustafarians in the distance, or blaster fire going by, or the shadow of stormtroopers behind Kylo - whatever’s easiest/possible - to make the shot fit better.

Help me, Snooker, you’re my only hope.

Unless you know someone else who can do it, in which case, they’re my only hope.

Or if it’s just impossible, in which case tell me and I’ll go ahead and just use my recolored version.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

I’d suggest avoiding Jar Jar in particular, even if you use him to depict someone else.

I know I’m a little late in my reply, but I couldn’t help but say that I am certainly keen to see gungans make a return in TROS. Whether it be visually or through audio.
I know this sounds weird but I’m a grown adult who UNIRONICALLY enjoys the presence of Jar Jar. I mean come on guys, you’re just mean! 😄 He’s genuinely a nice guy who just wants to be helpful. As strange as it sounds, he possesses no character qualities that I find annoying in people.

I hate to be a debbie downer because the mockups certainly look good, but isn’t Naboo typically shown to be more temperate or “mediterranean” in climate rather than tropical like Ajan Kloss? I don’t know that all that jungle foliage really screams Naboo to me. (Yes, I know that planets can have more than one climate but this is Star Wars damnit 😛 )

Ajan Kloss’ environment matches up rather well with the swamps and jungles the Gungan’s hide in towards the climax of The Phantom Menace. With appropriate color grading and ambiance, the idea could be that the Resistance are now using this old hiding place.

That’s fair. Maybe I was just a little put off by the Theed palace appearing so close to the “jungle” one of the mockups.

Something I threw together for fun:

I would darken the scene inside out the windows. For the first shot it works since your outside and the camera would be adjusted to the lighting outside, but inside, the camera would be adjusted to the hard lighting, causing the outside to look darker. I find this in many scenes through out the original prequels even, the lighting doesn’t match what a camera would pick up. For example, this is why you can’t see the stars from videos on the moon. The camera is adjusted to the hard lighting on the surface of the moon and can’t pick up the more subtle light of the stars.

Oh, thank you! I’ll keep that in mind!

I also think the rain outside the window should be more subtle, or not used at all. I think it makes it feel sort of artificial.

Also, did you render that environment, ships and buildings included?

Wow, that’s really impressive. I was curious where that frame came from when you posted the other Star Destroyer shot awhile back.

Honestly, I think one of the time-consuming parts about putting the throne room on Coruscant would be rotoscoping the all the windows in every shot in order to replace the background…
