Clip?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

Man, I LOVE this idea of really turning the knife in this moment!

Stu, thanks for your comments, and for fixing my metaphor! You twist (or turn) the knife. You tighten the knot.

V3 UPDATE

Hello, thanks to the sharp eyes of NeverarGreat, the flash-frame is fixed and the full complement of V3 versions (blu-ray, 10gb, 4gb, and 2gb) are now posted. They are all dated in the filename, “032220”. I even managed to sneak in an extremely minor FX tweak (don’t bother looking for it, it’s not something anyone else would notice, even with sharp eyes, and the payoff is extremely small; it’s just peace of mind for me).

Thanks again for everyone’s help and contributions to this edit!

desperately goes frame by frame looking for the tweak.

Seriously, Poppa, congrats on all the hard work.

Haha! It literally is just an adjustment to the position of a motion tracked radio line during a blurry swish pan!

And thank you!

Lol, nice. Nobody has found my Easter egg in Ep3, either.

Congrats on finishing (maybe?) a wonderful edit. And for lending a great deal to me in the process.

Thanks, Hal, as always, for everything! Is Chase right about your Easter egg?! Or is he just quoting Jedi. Hehe, I’m tired!

Actually I’m quoting Kenobi in AOTC.

Hal, I skimmed through all of LOE, desperate to find the Easter egg in all examples of text appearing on computer screens, in holograms, etc… The results: Nothing.
The only instance I was unsure of was the red holographic display in Palpy’s office, but I had nothing to compare it to so what do I know…

Woo, happy dance!

I’ll post the 720p and full 34GB 1080p versions on MySpleen sometime later this week, same as I did for V2. (My job is considered “essential” and I can’t work from home, otherwise I’d just do it tonight.)

Thanks as always, Ash, and stay safe! If you have other things to take care of, don’t let this interfere with your life!

I’m not a fan of Leia’s spacewalk, so glad it’s removed, but given that TROS shows her training and uses her force sensitivity, is there anything else we can do in order to imply she’s force sensitive a movie early? TROS already has a few too many new things out of left field.

She’s been implied to be Force sensitive since at least 1980.

I think ROTJ and TLJ already established her force-sensitivity pretty well without her spacewalk.

In ROTJ, Luke tells her of her power and she uses it a couple of times:
“Somehow, I’ve always known…”
“He wasn’t. I can feel it…”

In TLJ, she has a mother-son force interaction with Kylo-Ren just before the bridge explosion, and she connects with Luke from her hospital bed.

I also just want to clarify that I don’t dislike the spacewalk because of how powerful/not powerful Leia is supposed to be. My brain just could never muster enough suspension of disbelief to accept that anyone blown into outer space can survive. I know there are studies suggesting it could be possible to survive for a minute or two, but in my mind, basic logic and storytelling dictates that she should have died. I would feel exactly the same if it were Luke.

I don’t like the head fake of making us think she’s dead and then using the force as a deus ex machina to get her out of the situation. It cheapens the stakes for me. I’m okay with it in Guardians of the Galaxy, because that plays a lot more fast and loose with the rules and is just plain fun (it’s also actually set up better than what happens in TLJ). But in Star Wars, that’s a basic rule of logic that I think should stick.

Preach. Along with that, it totally took me out of the movie … With your mention of Guardians of the Galaxy, that movie/universe is ok with that stuff since … most of it IS meant to be unrealistic and comic book-y. That’s a ok. Star Wars is not meant to be nearly like that.

That was a Guardians of the Galaxy/Marvel moment, not Star Wars.

That’s true, it has been implied since the OT. Still, I’d vote for a hint in the ST before TROS, just to remind the audience.

As someone who was never particularly offended by Leia’s space walk, I’m planning on creating a Poppa/Hal hybrid for personal use now that the “final” versions are complete.
