Source? I never saw anything about an extended Endgame, just Spider-Man FFH which was entirely a Sony decision (and so far was a theatrical exclusive).

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.
I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

Yeah, it was a deleted scene or two shown after the credits as a bonus. Disney has yet to release an extended cut of any of their Marvel films.
I’m going to let this film sit a while before making a definite plans, but as it stands now this movie feels perfect. Even the trash opening is important to set the expectation for what is to come - a madcap rocket of maximum shlock. It’s kind of wonderful in that way, and I’ve been laughing at its beautiful absurdities for hours now.
This high will surely end sooner or later, but for now, I’m going to enjoy this film no edit required.

At the top of my head this are some of the most urgent changes.
-Rey Palpatine is horrible, just awful, so late in the game and unnecessary.
-Lando saying to the horse girl “LETS FIND OUT TOGETHER” or something like that. He sounded like an old pervert.
-Luke lifting the X-Wing and the saber. Why Force Yoda and Force Obi-Wan did`t help Luke to defeat Vader if they can lift stuff and such after dead? Breaks OT.
-Finn screaming way too much without doing nothing, it gets repetitive. Cut him saying that he has a secret to Ray too. Why. WHYYY.
-Put the Fortnite Palpatine message in there somehow.
-Cut the “they fly now”, is a must do.
-I wish we could cut Force Han, but is like Save Martha. Very hard task.

I feel obligated to do some sort of project for IX, if for no other reason than to complete the set. But I am uniquely stifled for time, energy, etc. compared even to when I was working on TLJ. Everything I’ve done since having kids has been somewhat modular, making it doable.
I need to let this movie exist for a while and maybe do some desensitization therapy. But who knows? Maybe it’d be better to sort of ‘endorse’ or adopt the work of another editor, depending on what ends up being produced.
Eh, I’m sure I’ll do something. But it sure isn’t going to be my brainchild from start to finish. I know full well it’ll be a compendium of good ideas from the collective.
I’ll say I will 100% be doing an edit of this. But I’ll for sure need some community help with a lot of things.

But, I can think of few more qualified than you to take something like this on.
And because I’m an exceedingly weird guy, here’s this thought: TROS used the same font in the crawl for the title as TFA, which was distinct from the one used for TLJ and most of the others. If, and I’d say only if, ‘Rey Palpatine’ is undone, change it to that other font.
I don’t know if I will do my own edit for this film (I think I’d really need to get my long-gestating EpIII edit out the door first) but if Hal is doing a project I’d definitely like to contribute. I just hope we get some usable deleted material to work with…

I noticed that right away. Truth be told though… because I’m an extremely weird guy too, all my Star Wars fan edits have that font as well, not the ROTJ/PT/TLJ font.

It helps to have such a supportive community. I mean, it’s great that my and poppasketti’s TLJ edits both exist, right? Even though they share a lot of their DNA, each was worth producing.
TFA has that elegant idea emerge from across the Internet: move Hosnian destruction to third act. TLJ was mostly addressing unrelated things a given editor saw fit to change.
TROS seems so very cramped, but I shouldn’t underestimate the creativity and genius that will likely be applied to this in time. And with any luck, the act of doing fan editing work on this one will represent making the best of it and help accept it for future enjoyment.

Just a crazy idea for an edit version if someone is willing. What about ending TLJ with Kylo Ren finding Palpatine instead of broom boy ending. It would have to be worked into the ending some how but could be achievable. Obviously the text crawl would have to change in Ep9. How cool would TLJ ending be with Palpatine offering his fleet to Kylo Ren.

The opening scene of Kylo finding the Sith GPS device could be used as a flashback in TROS to show how he found Palpatine. Also, the scene of him finding Palps shows the Snoke clones in vat so his death in TLJ would not be such an inconvenience as we would now know that Palps was Snoke all along when the credits roll.
Saw the movie on opening night, and I have to agree that one of the biggest problems was the pacing. I definitely think it’s possible to freeze frames/backgrounds, or loop video to extend certain scenes to give them breathing room, instead of the frenetic rushing from scene to scene that JJ gravitates towards. The movie definitely should have been two movies instead of cramming everything into one. It’ll be interesting to see what deleted scenes are released, or if we get an extended cut.
I’m still unsure whether I like Rey being a Palpatine, or if I would rather her be “a nobody.” There’s strong musical motif evidence to point to her being a Palpatine having been the plan all along, but I do kind of like the idea that anyone can be powerful in the force, though her rejecting her heritage is also a strong message.
If anyone wanted to add/alter scenes of characters to either add exposition or change current dialogue/settings, I definitely think it could be done using DeepFake technology or EbSynth.
I too was frustrated that the opening crawl glossed over what could have been an extremely interesting plot: Palpatine’s message being broadcast. I feel like the journey to discover the source of that, and seeing the galaxy’s confusion and incredulity toward the validity of the message would have been extremely interesting. Maybe the message could have gone out, people would have scoffed at it, then Palps would start blowing up planets with his Sith fleet which would get the galaxy to believe/tremble in fear at the return of the Emperor.
Aside from a complete overhaul of the movie, a couple of other minor things I would love to see changed that would connect the new movies to the larger canon would be for Boolio to be changed to Shriv, and for the wayfinder to just be a Sith holocron.
I think if Kylo finding Palpatine was moved to the end of Episode 8, then it could mirror TFA with Rey finding Luke, maybe add some little things throughout that help foreshadow Palpatine more. I looked around on the jungle planet after seeing it again, which I’m pretty sure is unnamed because I was listening for it, and in my head it’d take a lot of time to add Naboo elements to tie it with the prequels more considering the type of shots.

Yes, spot on…Episode 8 would actually finish on a cliff hanger.
For Rey’s identity, I basically think there are three options, ranking from most preferred to least:
• She is no one.
• She was created by Palpatine.
• She is Palpatine’s biological granddaughter.If we are stuck with Rey Palpatine, maybe we could explore ways it could be better set up throughout the trilogy. The one interesting thought I did have is that if Rey is a Palpatine but we had Ben Solo survive, a Palpatine and a Skywalker creating a new Jedi Order together could be an interesting implication that this new generation of Jedi will be different, along the lines of what Outbound Flight said.
I need to think more about the actual moment of Palpatine’s death, but I do agree something needs to be altered with it. I think it would be funny if he said, “I’m all the Sith” and she said, “I’m no one.”
Remember a fan theory that she was the clone of Palpatine, especially because of the TLJ cave scene. Sounds bad, but with this sort of presentation, it could be done well.
