I’m totally in love with this.
So sad this will not become a full edit, but hey, these projects must be funny to realize for editors in the first place.

Episode IV - THE HEIR OF SKYWALKER. Episode VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI RENEWED. DYAD IN THE FORCE (3-into-1 sequels).

Looks great Petro! It would be cool to see you at least “Remaster” certain scenes that you’re really passionate about, without the pressure of having to do an edit of the full movie. The space scenes seem to interest you in particular, like the opening chase, the Falcon Escape from Tatooine, and the Rebels approaching the Death Star.

@Petrovelly I know you won’t make a full edit, but do you plan on cleaning up the grain and “blurriness” in future Remastered scenes?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

What do you mean by ‘blurriness’?

Can you try and remaster the drive-by shot in A New Hope of the speeder going to the cantina (right after the “these are not the droids your looking for” scene in the theatrical cut, pre-SE) without the CGI creature?

Even if the grain isn’t that noticeable, it results in some shots being a little “blurry” at times, especially in comparsion to Rogue One and the sequel trilogy films. 😉

Merry Christmas! As you guys know, I’ve been working on the original Tatooine matte painting for a while. Here you can watch the results of my work! Also - I decided to keep the original timing, so Tantive IV will no longer fly with a camera movement 😃

(edit) It may not look that good because of the YouTube compression.

Been gone a while and just now seeing this project.

Well done here! Ready to see the rest of the shot! =)

Oh yes, this looks brilliant, finally bringing the dated SFX of the movie in line with the modern ones.
Combining Adywans + your work is destined to be the Star Wars of my dreams or something 😃

Great, editor, don’t let up.

For seventeen years the renegade Pfhor scoutship jumped between the closely packed stars of the galactic core. And all over the ship, dancing through the wreckage of the Pfhor computer core, Durandal was laughing…

@Petrovelly Do you plan on updating the alternate angle shot of the Star Destroyer chasing down the Tantive IV that takes place after the first one?

While you’re at it why not align the planet coming into frame with the musical sting as it was in 1977?

This please.

I’m working on Star Destroyer (by Ansel Hsiano, and the bridge from Angel) right now. It’s far from perfect, but I think it already looks ok in terms of realism. I had to modify it a little bit (by adding this hangar part in the middle for example) to make it look more like Devastator. Note that this is not the final version in any way, I just wanted to share it with you 😃

It looks beautiful! So you actually had to add the hangar to the model?

Yups. Had fun modeling though! It’s much easier than I was expecting 😄 I will propably do some more adjustments to the model. And by “hangar”, I mean this small part with two light areas in the dimple.

@Petrovelly Do you plan on re-doing the next shot featuring an alternate angle of the Star Destroyer chasing down the Tantive IV above the atmosphere of Tatooine and the shot where the latter ship is hit?

Wow! Looks really good. Was it modeled in Blender, imported and rendered in Element 3D?

I’ve been experimenting with different lights and color grading. I also added some more details to the model itself.
Ps. This model was propably done in 3DSMax, I’m modyfying and rendering it in Blender.

@Petrovelly Do you plan on re-doing the Mos Eisley spaceport scenes from the special edition version with better cgi?

No, I’m not experienced enough to do that.
