Perhaps the Spaceballs shot was intended as an external view ?
All that stuff around the tube does look like a ship’s exterior.

If we consider it as an external view and place the Star Wars capsule there, we get:

Anyway, it’s not a nice model and we gain nothing by seeing it.

That is brilliant I think 😃

It could find a place I reckon or it’s possible…

Ady, hate to be a nuisance (and I know this suggestion might be a bit of a tall order), but I think it would be a welcome change to improving the editing continuity of the Yavin IV scenes.

In this shot, I think it could be beneficial to add the Falcon to the left side of the screen, behind the foliage. Not only would this be a nice visual link to Rogue One with the ships on the tarmac, but also a better connection to the previous shot of the Falcon landing (even as a kid, I was always confused where the Falcon landed). Additionally, this would be a comparatively easy change since it’s a static shot and could feasibly be accomplished with a still image. Just some food for thought. Keep up the good work!

This is from the trading cards…Looks much better but skin tones no good.

Did a bit more on this one back in September… not sure what happened to the sides but falcon and some parts look a bit better. Using various parts from different views you can get more detail into the image although better cropped also.

Yes it’s interesting that it matches, but I still think time and effort are best placed elsewhere.
Both the capsule and the ship’s “exterior” are not pretty 😉

I don’t like cgi all that much and cgi recreations I prefer just image and art manipulation.

That is why i like your still image of the escape pod…

Actually i don’t think all the special edition mattes are wholly cgi creations. Been getting into matte paintings and art recently that is all.

Ady… is it too late to add in “MACLUNKEY” in this new version? 😂

(Please don’t ban me…)

@adywan Do you plan on improving the binary sunset shot, like you did with the “R2 in the canyon” shot and the sandcrawler shot for your upcoming ANH:R HD edit?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

@adywan They have added another change for the film on Disney+, in which Greedo says something to Han (likely an insult) before they shoot. Do you plan on including this change?

What do you think?

It’s not bad. The problem with Greedo shooting first before Han does is that it messes up with his transition from anti-hero to hero.

Nah, man. That’s not the problem.
Han wasn’t shooting in cold blood, as Lucas loves to say. Greedo was about to kill him. There’s nothing wrong with saving your own life from a guy who just said he was gonna take your ship “over your dead body” and that he’s been looking forward to doing so “for a long time”.
The problem is that Lucas doesn’t seem to understand what’s happening in his own movie.

That tends to happen when you haven’t watched your own movie.

Or is a generation and a year exactly equivalent in the SW Universe?

Am i the only one that doesn’t like that ANH ends in an awards ceremony? Ever since i was young it bothered me how much Anh feels like an independent film. I’ve always thought it would/could be cool if they celebrated in the hangar. With some how Leia’s line “Its not over yet” maybe appearing. Then cutting back to Vaders ship that we last see leaving the scene of the Death star. Now arriving at the fleet of Star Destoyers and possibly his super star Destroyer from ESB. (Could even use the unused footage of Vader leaving cloud city and boarding his ship with replacing vaders fighter ship). Vader boards his destroyer. We see him enter the hologram room. Sidious’s face pops up, no words spoken. Then the fade out and credit music.

Maybe a nice way to tie it to the next 2 films?

While I can agree that the Ceremony has always been cheesy, Idk that revealing all the set-ups to ESB would improve it, and I certainly don’t think that showing the emperor as early as ANH would improve the series. You could have it end on some sort of more foreboding shot but all I can think is that it would either clash with the score, or you would loose that wonderful piece entirely. Its a bit of a close choice and I personally can’t tell which is the better option.

That’s because it kinda was. It was meant to be a film that tied itself up in a neat bow and is I think a perfect conclusion to the hero’s journey as a standalone story, while the film subtly leaves open the possibility of exploring Luke’s journey and further adventures in future films.

Plus Empire takes place 3 years later anyway so there’s no need to have it tie in so closely.

There is a recording of the Throne Room march (in fact Ady used it in his extended credits) that alters the final note so that rather than segueing into the credits it leaves it hanging.

I like the idea, although I agree that “less is more”. A wipe to a single shot of Darth Vader’s TIE fighter exiting hyperspace, and slowly panning to reveal the Executor in the distance (with a planet in the BG and maybe a couple of regular Star Destroyers for scale) would be enough for me.

Imagine if Star Wars had never gotten a sequel. Luke’s lightsaber would just be a Chekov’s gun since he doesn’t use it until ESB.

Well the Emperor was mentioned in ANH. So not a lot of spoiling there. And i wasn’t suggesting using the throne room song at the end either, i was suggesting using the imperial march. Which Ady already included into Anh. Im not opposed to less is more so to say. You can cut the emperor and run it at Roccondilrinon says. The idea is to wipe the throne room scene completely and not end it as a one off film. End it as the first of 3, with a slight cliff hanger. Cliff hanger being, that they only destroyed the death star, and not their entire fleet. So more is to come.

Which yes, im pretty sure every knows the first Star Wars was a one off. There’s a lot that was changed moving forward. Some of which caused continuity errors. Like Qui-gon training Obi. The idea with fan edits is to bring all the movies together into a more cohesive story. Just an idea though i was wondering if i was the only one.

ray_afraid- Right. That’s why he included prequel droids in the trash compactor. Pretty sure his intention was the same as the special edition, just to do it better. Which the special edition was to bring the originals closer to the level of the prequels.

Edit- Not really suggesting here for Ady to do this to his movie either. More just loosely discussing the idea.

First post here.
Not sure if it’s been addressed, but one thing that’s bothered me is Leia’s dialogue during the Death Star Chasm swing scene.
She says “They’re coming through!” yet neither the visuals nor the performance of the actors align with this.
I would suggest that that line be moved to when the stormtroopers first start coming through the door, and then her line “Here they come!” be moved to the second shot of the door raising, right before she gives Luke the lucky kiss.
A minor edit, but it makes more sense with the flow of the scene.

Link to the scene I’m referring to:

I dont know man, based on Ady’s own words it seems his intentions is to enhance the OT in itw own, and if it happens to tie anything else in its just a “bonus” for those who want it to:

Quote from Adywan:

"The plan to finish ROTJ:R with Luke and the ghosts at the funeral pyre was always there prior to TFA even being announced. It’s just that, after seeing TFA, it does actually foreshadow whats to come. Revisited was always meant to stand on it own in that it wouldn’t follow official canon. Happily for me though, nothing i plan to do to the Revisited saga contradicts anything in the new films, so that’s just a happy accident. The prequels will also be erased from the saga now that i am no longer doing them. I just can’t bring myself to ever watch them again. The prequel references added to ANH:R will be gone for the HD version (The battle droid added into the sandcrawler scene was only added as in in-joke anyway. Left in a junk pile 😉 ). I no longer have to worry about fixing anything in the OT that contradicts those films. And, even if by some miracle i do decide to do them, i’ll fix the problems in those instead. So no biggie. But, for me, I’d like to start my viewing with Rogue One, followed by the OT, then the ST , as those films are far superior to the PT. Those are the only parts i would like to fit together now. Although you’d probably still be able to watch the prequels with Revisited because nothing i’m doing really contradicts those anyway ( plus i may still be adding the “you’re Mother once thought as you do” line instead of the original “Obi-Wan). That’s just my personal opinion of the PT and i appreciate that there are fans out there that like them, so i wouldn’t really want to make Revisited so you couldn’t watch the PT too if you wanted to.”

Wouldn’t be worth nabbing till they dropped the blurays any ways. Streaming quality isn’t as high. I keep hoping they’ll show more clone wars era destruction that i might be able to use when the blurays drop.
