I have to note that the u.k. vhs releases have superior box art to the american releases. Has anybody used these for dvd covers?

They are certainly a colourfull bunch of covers.........

However, my favourite is the US Faces sets which I might just heve to invest in.

I think that the 1995 ones have been used but not sure about any others.

The offer still stands to scan any of these if required.

please post them in the starwars dvd covers thread, I would love to see them on future releases or download them myself.

Russ, on the 1995 fullscreen ROTJ cover, is the back the same as the 1995 widescreen back (Luke and Leia on the sail barge down the left side, text starts with "THE EMPIRE FALLS...")?

If so, would you be able to email a scan (of the whole cover) to Metallaxis for me please?

Apart from the Widescreen info, the backs of those covers are identical.

1995 Fullscreen Jedi

1995 Widescreen Jedi

If different scans are required, could Metallaxis contact me and I will do a re-scan as requested.

These will be kept up for a week or two..........

Due to a complete fluke on ebay, I have now got the Executor box set, bought for the grand total of £1 plus postage.

The bargain of the year!!!!!!!!!

I will be checking these tapes out as soon as they arrive and doing loads of scans so if anyone has any specific requests for info on this set or any particular scans, fire away........

Russ are you ever planning on releasing this collection on dvd?

I imagine you've captured quite a few vhs sets.

What is the quality of the widescreen releases prior to the 1995 faces set?

I personally have no plans to release any of these.

A couple of people are having a wee look at a few of them and they may have other idea's.

There is talk of a website to compare in detail all of these releases compared to the US LD and VHS releases.

Did that last bumper package I sent ever arrive?? If so, have you any feedback on any of those??

Russ, on your website I noticed this:

Apart from a 1986 copy of Jedi, my knowledge of the pre 1988 versions is very patchy.

I have, if you're interested a 1987 version of ANH, a copy of Empire from 1984 and probably the same version of Jedi that you have. All appear to be part of a rental video library collection.

If you want I can stick these in the mail and send them to you for comparison tests? I can't do it myself as I don't have a VCR.

Let me know

Does anyone happen to have a VHS preservation/rip of the first Empire Strikes Back VHS (or Beta) release from 1984? Would love to see it again. Thanks:)

The TN1 CED version is the sped-up PAL version, released in the US so that they wouldn’t have to use 2 CED caddies.

Thanks!😃 I think the Extended Play LD used that too? It was time compressed I think.
