That’s ridiculous. No one’s watching these movies for the plot. If you skip ANH, you’re skipping the whole point.
Not to mention, you are missing a vital chapter in the story of the main characters (though I guess that’s beside your point).
Now, skipping ROTJ on the other hand… an interesting idea.

I would agree with this, though only if the person in question already knows the Empire twist. That’s too good a moment to miss.
